Active Cashback Icon Now on MSN Toolbar
...if you’re into online shopping and have been using Live Search Cashback program, you’ll be glad to know that MSN Toolbar has embedded a nifty icon for the program. What’s good about this Cashback icon is the fact that it gleams whenever you have encountered an item in your search results which has a cashback offering. It basically ensures that you won’t miss a good cashback deal when you do your search, not only on Live Search but even when you’re using Yahoo, Google and Craiglist.

I brought this up in post #873 on the following thread:

    http://forum.abestweb.com/showthread...&page=35&pp=25

No one paid much attention at that time. That was a month ago.

Everybody is into the toolbar game.

Taking bets, Google Toolbar will get in the game.

With google toolbar being one of the widest downlaoded bar, this will be devastating

This will only hurt affiliates that fail to adapt to the constantly changing dynamics of affiliate marketing..
Stop blaming the parasites, low return days, cookie stuffers, networks, lousy AMs, and TOOLBARS!

It's pretty silly to infer that affiliates only have themselves to blame for lost revenue to toolbars...

Yes, we need to adapt, I agree (and practice the same on my own sites), but the odds are still in Microsoft's favor that they will see some increased revenue as a result..

Affiliate marketing will continue to be more and more difficult, just like any business.

If you think a toolbar is the reason you're not making money in affiliate marketing, you're not cut out for affiliate marketing.

I'm making a living at affiliate marketing... perfectly cut out for this, thanks very much.

My point was that Microsoft will see an increase in revenue, no matter what. To what degree obviously depends on each affiliate, but you really can't place the blame entirely on the affiliate.

On the contrary, how much an affiliate earns is 100% in their control..

As soon as I saw the toolbar, I pulled put all my PPC listings on MSN Live on pause.

No way I am paying PPC and having the traffic poached for any reason.

And how long do you think it's going to take for MSN to connect the dots? Why do they think "double dipping" is a viable strategy? I haven't checked the PPC blogosphere as I don't do PPC, but it would be great to see if the word got out and caused a massive withdrawal of PPC listings. This sounds like the definition of suicide.
