    Seo test results
I had someone review my site and he suggested or found the following,

problem is he wants a fortune to fix it.

So in this economy I'm trying to fix it myself.

Reverse DNS does not connect to site.

how can I check this? what am I looking for?

Canonical URL is not being redirected properly ABC.com is not being redirected to www.ABC.com.

    What does that mean?

Site does not contain a proper 404 page.

I made a custom 404 page it look ok, what guidelines should I follow?

The canonical domain comment can be easily fixed with an entry in your .htaccess file:

    Code:
    Options +FollowSymlinks
    RewriteEngine On
    RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^abc\.com$ [nc]
    RewriteRule ^(.*)$ http://www.abc.com/$1 [L,R=301]
What this means is that your site can be found by either abc.com (no www.) or www.abc.com. The above entry in your .htaccess file will redirect any abc.com to www.abc.com. Be sure to change abc to your site's domain name.

Once you added this entry, open a browser and type in abc.com into the address bar, the page that ends up loading is www.abc.com.

Canonical domains can lead to potential duplicate content penalties by the search engines.

I assume you have a similar entry in your .htaccess file for the custom 404 page?

    ErrorDocument 404 /error404.php
