    Generate Snapshot Image of Website?
    For example, if you looked at your website in Alexa, you would see a thumbnail image that is basically a screen shot of your website. Wondering how this can be accomplished using php.

    Yes, but I am looking for a way to go out and get a screenshot of a url and save the image on my server.

    Ok, Not sure if I follow but would not just just do the above for your urls and the right click and save the image or are you looking to do this for alot of links/images??

    Looks like your best bet. You just need to have enough access to your server to install everything. It'll basically run Mozilla in a virtual framebuffer and take a snapshot.

    Still looking for php based script that will allow me to input a url and return a snapshot of the page. Since I am on shared hosting, I can't really install anything on "their" server.

    I don't think you can do it on a shared host. You've pretty much need to have mozilla installed on the server with virtual framebuffer software. What you probably need to do is find an outside service that does it and download the image from there. You could try http://browsershots.org/.
