Best place to sell your domains on the net
According to a recent survey the best methods to sell a domain is as via SEDO according to the annual Domain Name Wire Survey.

48% of respondents to the fourth annual survey selected Sedo as the top site, roughly equal to last year. In second place, with only 14% of the vote, were domain name forums. Here are the rankings:

    1. Sedo 48%

    2. Forums 14%
    3. GoDaddy (TDNAM) 8%
    4. Snapnames (Non-expired) 7%
    5. Afternic 6%

Domain Distribution Network, eBay, and domain newsletters each received less than 2%.

Ok, but let's say I want to sell a domain for $1,000,000.00 (one million dollars) or more, where do I list my domain for that amount or any amount I choose without having to do an appraisal or have any one else for that matter suggest that I do an appraisal of the domain to see how much it is worth.

GoDaddy told me I can only sell my domain for 50k or less without having todo an appraisal but if I want to sell higher than 50k then I need an appraisal first pay the fee and then they will tell me if it is worth it. After more pushing, the guy also told me GD was not really authorized to sell domains higher than 50k.

So where do I go for my request?

You could try one of the auction brokers if you have a "big bucks" kind of domain. I talked with my rep from Moniker at AffSum west. They actually ran a live auction at two AffSums (I purchased a domain at the Miami AffSum auction - must have gotten caught up in the bidding ). I am about to list a (potential) 6-figure name with Moniker - which I discussed with the rep in Vegas.

But, in agreeing with Haiko's quoted survey - I have been pleased with results at Sedo over the years.

Actually I foresee a great deal of progressive and positive change for affiliates, my post wasn't in advance of any trends, it was more to liquidate any excess inventory as many times the question has been asked ... "what's the best place to sell domains".

As Bill mentions Moniker is a good site, GreatDomains.com (Sedo) and Aftermarket.com are all good for premium names.

The question, of course, is the real value not the perceived value by the owner, IOW if the domain name is really a million dollar domain then it really doesn't need an appraisal to be listed, but many make it a requirement as a "reality" check.

    Thanks Bill/Haiko.

I've seen Moniker but have not really looked again lately, let you know. I am only interested in the very few companies I know that work in the related field of which is the domain name that could use it long term, so no hurry.

Anyway next year value goes up even more.

Ah, yes indeed, a good reference - and an interesting one to peruse. I have actually been in those charts a couple of times over the years.
