RoomItUp Affiliate Program - we want feedback
We have recently launched our affiliate program with Share A Sale and have had a lot of affiliates sign up for our program, but not many are active. The ones that are seem to be doing well. We are looking for feedback on how to get more of the affiliates active. We have an updated feed, we have text and image banners and most important, our products sell very well. All feedback is appreciated.

A lot of us are not to happy about using SAS merchants now since SAS now allows toolbar affiliates so they can steal our sales.

Example - they allow FatWallet as one of their affiliates.

We send the customer to the merchant and FatWallet will get the commission for the sale because SAS allows them to steal from us by letting them be a SAS affiliate. We send you the customer - FatWallet gets our commission for the sale - not us.

One of those things about aff. marketing, there will be many affiliates signing up, but not many will ever become active.

Offer incentives. First sale bonus, or 3rd sale bonus, place 2 links and get a bonus, or add the datafeed and get a bonus etc.

    Hi Jamie,

Good to see that you joined here

It is true, you will find many who join but lots of us may not have had the chance to put merchant links up yet. Or maybe some of us put it on the back burner and forgot about it. Perhaps you could:

    * Send out newsletter or email letting affiliates know that you have new products. This can serve as a reminder that they still have to put links up.
    * Let affiliates know what your hot sellers are, so we can push them.
    * Let affiliates know that you are listed in Popshops now.
    * Let affiliates know of any specials, discounts, etc.

as above. use promotions to get them active.
    $$ for 1st sale,
    Most sales/month gets u xx$
$$ increase in commissions for reaching a certain level in sales in a given period.

    Rule of thumb;
    40% will become active
20% of ur total affiliates will generate clicks over a year or so
of those 10-20% will generate sales
that's a sad and simply fact

    Re:
"toolbar affiliates" - sounds like parasite software, thought SAS doesn't allow parasites? Parasites are counterproductive to merchant in long run. (not good for affiliates either-except the parasite) New to ABW and affiliate programs but am quickly learning here. Hope there is a "sticky" that lists these on ABW will make sure not part of program. More homework to do.
