    Grand central is back
Since big brother bought it. 2 years ago, it is back as Google Voice

Some pretty neat features and improvements but more control over our data, personal info

I don't think they were ever really "gone"... I've been using GC for about 6-8 months now just fine. I am glad to see they'll be improving it and not chucking it out the window or letting it sit around aimlessly though.

I started using it about 18 months ago. I guess it was shortly after G* bought it. Never had any problems but would like to see it add some new features. Since I change cell and voip providers pretty frequently and am too lazy to port numbers it makes it really easy to give out my GC# and just have it ring both of them.

No doubt, I'd love more flexibility in the message or at least some improvement. It often doesn't wait until I pick up the phone to start.

I have been having a Google Voice number for a couple of months now and just don't seem to have any uses for it. Not imaginative enough I guess.

It comes in handy working from home if you don't actually have a "work" phone number. I use mine as my work/office number since it all comes through my personal cell anyway, but it helps weed out solicitors and ID work related calls.
