Need Help / Ideas with Website Tonight...
Hi All, this is my first post here at the forums, I am glad I have found them. My question is the following... I have setup a pretty extensive website utilizing Godaddy's website tonight site builder. I have added Amazon adds and I have added CJ ads to the site. Now, when I leave the builder and view the site I get a message that says "This site contains both secure and nonsecure items, do you want to display the nonsecure items". I had one customer who is using chrome that also advised me of security issues. What should I do to resolve this situation. I have tried to encrypt the CJ ads and I have tried to add https: in the the HTML links.... any suggestions would be appreciated... Note: I am not a programmer at all, all I have been doing is copying the html and posting them in my template boxes... Thanks

Why don't you contact GoDaddy or use their support forum? You probably would get very good responses there.

That message means that you are loading content from both http and https links.

There is no reason to have done the above and it will be the cause of your issues.

The encrypted link just means that they give you a url that is not easy for some other party to look at and re-write to their own affiliate links.

Think of amazon links, usually they are like this:
    http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00104M0HQ/
then you add an affliate code and they become something like:
    http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00104M0HQ/?tag=affliate-20

In this Amazon example, it would be extremely easy for someone scraping your content to re-publish your site, replacing your affiliate code with theirs. CJ's encrypted links are not clear like that so someone can not do that translation easily.

    Well,

I have contacted Godaddy support, and they were the ones who advised that I needed to insure that all the links were https:... That being said, all I did originally was copy the html code from Amazon and CJ and post it on my site in the provided blocks. Is there another way of copying this code from Amazon or CJ that will be secure? One thing that I noticed on say my amazon ads, was that the widget itself was showing a https:, but that the individual items for sale within the widget were http:. All of my CJ ads if I click to not show the nonsecure items, disappear from my webpages... Thanks for the helps so far.... I put another in another request to Godady support last night at 1am central standard time... it is now 6pm central time... I was advised that I should hear back from them within 11hrs.... Thanks for the help so far..
