Ok Folks, this is my first time creating a topic. So bear with me. For those of you how have done both SE ads and print ads. What works best to attract the traffic for your sites?

Actually I've never done print advertising, but I wanted to reply as one Ramones fan to another. Search engine marketing works well for me, though.

    Hi Markymark,

I've had mixed success with online marketing. Most online banner ads or popups have a very low return / sales ratio. But I have done pretty well with search engines. It is just having to constantly fight your way up to the top of the listings. I decided to have a go with print ads this year to see if it can do better.

Let us know how you get on. I would expect that the cost to click ratio would be very high. How are you intending to track this ?

Print advertising has provided the overwhelming amount of our traffic - for obvious reasons!

I'm going to put out one ad at a time and track the gross hits for that area of the country. Basically looking for the surge or no surge in traffic during the ad's time period.

Hello Karl. I'll be looking at your paper soon. I have to go after my area first. Got to beat the competition.
