    CTR at 900%
One of my sites today is showing an enormous number of clicks in relation to impressions so my CTR just for this one site is 900%. Seems definitely inaccurate although I suppose someone could have gone to my site and clicked every affiliate link on it. Any reason someone would do that? Have you ever had wacky stats like this in CJ. I did contact them to ask about it but the question hasn't been answered just yet. Thanks everyone!

That was my first thought too but I'm not sure what the point of that is. I understand that sometimes people with AdSense get click bombed by competitors trying to get them banned but does that happen with affiliate links also?

Possible you received one click on a link with a tracking pixel.

User then bookmarked the merchant page w/your referral info.

User went back out onto the internet and searched for that product elsewhere, found something similar and came back to the bookmark. Perhaps they did this multiple times resulting in more click thrus than pixel impressions.

    Just a thought...

If you're just using the tracking part of the link and not the "impression" pixel, you'll show more clicks to impressions than average. Otherwise, no clue - as Sam said, probably bots.

Thanks to those who responded. I'm guessing it was a bot also as it only lasted for part of a day and then went back to normal. It artificially lowered my EPC and conversion rate but other than that I don't really see any effect from it. It was weird though.

Actually for me it happened on 3/24 so I'm not sure it's related but it was definitely strange. CJ offered no explanation and I figure it's not worth pursuing unless it happens again.

My AdSense ( GOOG ) account does that sometimes.

75,000 impressions and a lower CTR, but I am somehow thrilled to see the numbers that I know are false.

    I say let it ride.

Also, have found that sometimes a search term will hit for a day or two during an index and fade away.

    Hate it when that happens!

900% CTR turns me on though.

Kind of like using porn and saying your love life isn't dead.

Lot of sites I have 0 impressions since I don't use the tracking pixel so the CTR is very high. Though it doesn't bother the advertiser.

This usually happens if you are cloaking your affiliate links. Also, if you use the links without the tracking pixels, you will have very high CTR.
