Everything I have in my inbox is "must take action" mails. It's one of my pet peeves to take care of all mails and reply back every day, then move all the "taken care of e-mails" to individual folder. I have many folders with individual name to group name and it's easy to access if I have to go back to find specific e-mails

I have an email account for each network and some for other special purposes. I have 14 inboxes with "Local Folders" having multiple accounts in it's inbox. Under each Inbox there are numerous Sub-Folders for saving anything that is considered important.

My incoming email is filtered into dozens of folders. There's a folder for each network, plus several special ShareASale folders (for program changes, accept/decline emails, newsletters), plus folders for clients and for companies I do business with (ISP, email hosting), plus a folder just for incoming "marketing newsletters," plus folders for other correspondence. The newest filter/folder is for AB178 (California's "Amazon Tax" bill).

I receive dozens of "leigitmate" emails per day that require review and action; only about a dozen of these actually remain in my regular "IN-Box," while the others are scattered to various folders. Of course, I also get dozens of spam emails per day, mostly filtered into my spam folder but sometimes they need nudging. (I have several layers of spam filters that block email from ever coming to my computer; the last time I turned off all external filters, I received many hundreds of spam emails per day.)

my coworker as over 2,000 emails in her inbox. that would drive me crazy.
I'm like Ayako, if it's in the inbox, then I have to take care of it. If not, then it's been filed for reference or deleted.

It's very very insane. I, too live in email hell. *sigh*

Like many others I have rules set that move emails to appropriate folders. Many are list emails and notifications. I read those if/when I have time.

I have emails going back as far as 2001, I just keep transferring them from old to new computers. Even with removing spam as it comes in, they total into the hundreds of thousands when adding all the sub-folders.

My oldest email I still retain is from 4/21/1999.

It's about the Columbine shootings on 4/20/1999 and I had sent it out to folks I knew and copied myself...

Since the 10 year "anniversary" of Columbine is in 18 days - I thought I would share that email at this time...

    Losses in Littleton

With the tragedy in Littleton yesterday I wanted
to share with you some thoughts...

We all either have children of our own, or are in
contact with children on a daily basis.

Take a moment right now, or at your first
available moment, to let your child(ren) know how
special they are to YOU. If you have not hugged
your child today, do so now.

All of you know I work in Denver and live in
Colorado Springs. It was nearly seven hours
before I could get home to my family, to my
daughter. The first thing I did was hug my
daughter and let her know that SHE was the most
important person in my life. That SHE was
special. She's only six, and as bright as she is
she does not comprehend or understand death or
what happened in Littleton. However, she does
    understand that she is special!

It is each and every adult that comes in contact
with our children that shapes their lives. Our
input formulates their self-esteem, how they feel
and look at the world, at themselves.

Perhaps lack of self-esteem was the cause of
yesterday's nightmare...we can only try to
protect our children...let us start with a hug
    for our kids!

I have emails dating back to about 1995.
I must have a bad case of a disease that could be called "I might need to refer to that later" syndrome.

I don't like to see more than about 80 in any inbox. Then they must be filed in their proper categories.

Spose I'm heading towards email hell too.

That's not too bad. My uncle prints out every single e-mail (and any attachments) and has a storage area that is totally dedicated for them in his house. That's the real e-mail hell

    That's another terrible syndrome.
I think it's called "Print the Internet".
I suspect that my elderly dad has this same disease.

I have 4100 emails in my inbox, but i never delete a single one. I make use of the red flags and check marks in outlook to let me know what I have done and what still needs to be done. I red flag everything in the am and then by the end of the day I try and have them all check marked, also, if I miss one I can go back and find it easily by filtering. Works for me.
