What do you have interest in (besides making a career out of affiliate marketing)? There's your answer.

Haiko: as long as others aren't encroaching on my niche, we're okay.

    King,

I'm talking like a site only for car radios, plasma screen tvs, camcorders, etc, not a whole electronics thing --- think pure high focus, keyword rich and niched!

    King,

I don't think you are going to get many answers. If other affiliates have ideas, they are doing them. They probably don't want any extra competition.

    Hi King

Here's my thoughts, all thoroughly biased of course

    1. Kitchen and Bar Products : Selection of cooking products, support items and then additions for the drinks that go with the food. Kegworks

    2. Home Development / DIY : Development of a site that covers home development, allows you to mix in a selection of Home Bars, Built in Grills, tools and furnishings. Kegworks, LeftonMain and Drivewerks (tools)

    3. Car Care : People by new engine parts on occasions but they buy a lot of care care products and they run out and need to buy more. Drivewerks.

    4. Beauty. Potentially crowded unless you can find a good angle. But brings together Jewelry and beauty products.

And of course Magazines (netMagazines.com) go with any of the above as a nice gap filler on the side bars.

Drop me a PM or email, I'll be happy to work with you on any concepts.

    Cheers

    Chris

I'll second that. What tends to give an affiliate site an edge is if the webmaster really knows their stuff.

    Hey King,

This comes as an affiliate ... most of my income comes from my own affiliate sites:

When ever I want to start with a new program I ALWAYS START AT WORDTRACKER.COM or other keyword tools online.

Bottomline for me is that everything is dependant on highly targeted traffic, I look for "traffic patterns online" ....once I think I might be on to a strong keyword with lots of secondary keywords I then try to match a merchant with that traffic.

I think most affiliates start from the other end which would be merchant program first ... then try to drive traffic. I like my method better since my income depends on a steady stream of visitors to my sites.

A one or two day pass at wordtracker is great when you trying to find a new program/source of new traffic. Once your rolling in the dough then you can just pick up a yearly subscription.

    Cheers,

    Hey King,

Yep ... before you start anywhere you should have an idea of how competative your new program is ....

Sometimes I will decide on a program based apon the info wordtracker spits out at me ;-)

    Wordtracker, Hmmm...

Lets see the top searches - porn, sex, xxx ....

    That gives ME an idea!

From what I understand that's a rough business to be in. Also from what I've read you need to be real familiar with the legal aspects of having a porn site. You can really get yourself into some hot water. That avenue is not for me but good luck...you'll need it.

    Hey Guys,

When your at wordtracker why would you even bother with the top terms list? Figure every online marketer is going to be looking at/ using that list.

Instead to a competative search for the word:

    buy
    or
    purchase
or a word pertaining to a niche marketing your trying to research. Spend a good deal of time there until you uncover a "good angle" and then pull a bunch of keyword lists around that angle. Then start forming the bases of your new site with these keyword lists in mind.

    Cheers,

    Ok,

First, let me say that I freely admit that this is in my self interest to post, but what is no where on the web and is a huge market is a website targeting commuters and what would make the commute easier.

We want to target commuters and all the sites out there are .gov car pool sites. No one has monetized this market.

But, when I thought about, commuters by tons of stuff, audio books, cups, satellite radio, seat cushions, lots of car gadgets, cell phone holders, chargers, etc. There is a ton of stuff. The right affiliate can create a true value added site around this theme.

97 million people drive to work alone every day! It’s a huge untapped market.

OK, that my thought for the day. I hope some one does it and just remember Audible please.

    Good luck with the search.

    Cheers,

    Beth
