Our program is much more "affiliate friendly" than drugstore.com any day of the week

One thing that drugstore.com does have going for it is an extensive product base to sell ...

However affiliates are not compensated for prescription drugs.

Actually i think Drugstore.com is more affiliate friendly, they convert great and you don't have to consult an attorney before you join.

And they do compensate for prescription drugs:

They have 2 programs at LS and 1 is for their pharmacy.

    Hey TrustNo1,

    Oh ... ok

Sounds like the program has changed then, say a year ago when I looked at it they did not payout on prescription drugs.

Of course when you send a visitor to drugstore.com and they purchase you do not get residual commissions from that customer for life

But I would agree ... they are a good company and all just different.

    Cheers,

Unless the Feds decide to make a law making it illegal like you suggested could happen in your forum. Time will tell.

With Drugstore.com you actually need a prescription from a doctor so you there are no legal worries.

We like drugstore.com here. For us, they've been one of our most consistant merchants.

They have a separate program for perscriptions - no results on the perscription program yet - too soon to tell.

Does Drug Store have a datafeed?

I believe they don't pay commissions on Insurance paid prescription. But I would feel a lot better about promoting a store that actually wants the prescription.

    Yep ...

    Time will tell

Right now the money is great ... it is not illegal and I am doing nothing wrong

I have made a decision to work this market for all it is worth, I can always create sites for other program at a later date. Right now pharma programs make sense ... and make me money.

I just read that thread again. Man, there's a small fire going on over there!

I agree with Trust, as long as the merchnat is on the up and up, there are no worries.

Is this intended to be a drugstore.com bashing thread? Good grief.

There certainly is a lot more to Drugstore.com than their pharmacy.

I never pushed their pharmacy, there is so much money to be made from their other offerings.

There really isn't a better run all around drugstore program out there.

And I couldn't in good faith push drugs on my customers from one of those no prescription needed pharmacies. To each his own..

I think that Drugstore.com has got a bad rap with a lot of other Online Pharmacies because they are trying to clean up the industry. Unfortunately, those that are making a lot of money are also walking a fine line of the law. Some of them are outright breaking it. Drugstore.com is trying to clean up the industry.

It's interesting to read about merchants they will recommend to a newbie poster. But if you read about this same merchant in their dedicated forum, you'll see that they either aren't paying, aren't in business anymore and people are in jail. Or all of the above.

I just wish that Drugstore.com had a datafeed. but I'd much rather promote an online pharmacy that actually requires a prescription. And I'm not talking about one you get through one of their "doctors".

    Hey Zoe,

Great point about the "needed prescription" as mentioned in this thread everyone has a certain comfort level with what they promote

One of the pharma companies I work with is much the same (canadian outfit) that requires a written precription to be faxed in. It is a good program and pays "fair" ... I feel good knowing that much of my pharmacy business is spread across different programs while I of course promote my program hard as I believe in it.

Time will tell with pharmacy ...
