Cameron Herold (the former CEO of 1800GotJunk) tweeted this today:
The Chinese use 2 brush strokes to write the word "crisis". One stroke stands for danger; the second stroke stands for opportunity.

I am not Chinese, but it's the same thing for Japanese as well.
危: Danger + 機: Opportunity = 危機 (Crisis)

You are absolutely right.
For example, Mrs Moo has an affiliate website where she has found it difficult to reliably find merchants who sell the products that she wants. The solution? Sell those products herself by striking up a deal with the manufacturer. Will it work? Well, it's certainly worth a try.
Right at the moment we're witnessing retail Armageddon. In some market segments I think this is beginning to lead to a shortage of supply where demand is still quite strong. High demand + restricted supply = opportunity.
