bleh.. my site nowhere in sight.. I don't like it!

a niche content site bumped in favor of gambling spam sites or articles on the topic from big news sites.. and those articles are from like 2000 and way out of date with current stuff.

just going through my most popular search terms according to my logs.. fairly irrelevent or out dated listings. Good job google!

I tried aol.com and then the search box on the aol home page (still have aol for free) I saw someone over at WMW in the private forum mention the same exact thing, but not seeing it, maybe it's rolling out or something.

Yeah, it looks like its fluctuating in and out on www, but on AOL is appears to be a fait accompli.

For most terms I check, I'm seeing what appears to be newly filtered results on www, and either old or unfiltered results on www3.

I kinda miss the old days, 1 big update a month, usually would be hapenning at this time. Could see it on www2,www3 and bounce to the main every now and then and 4-5 days later it was done. But i do like the quicker indexing of pages now

I'm getting different results for one of my terms, and it's not in my favor.

The irony is that it's a "labor of love" content site, not a sales site.

Edit: I must have had it cached locally. A ctrl-F5 and I see matching www and AOL.

If you're not Buy.com, about.com or Amazon, you can forget about any traffic from Google. That's all I find for my term ON THE FIRST 20 SERPs FOR THAT TERM. My site, and several other personal sites on the subject, show up on page 20.

Somebody must either really hate my site or Google did some serious rule changes. I have to start over now.

Oh the irony. My site is on the first page for a term almost unrelated to the site's theme. It fluxed, I'm on page 17 now. Good, if this keeps up, four people might find it this month.

    I was even doing Tabke's "26 steps to 15k a day"

I'm still watching it, but I'm finding it fairly amusing in a sick sort of a way.

A number of keywords that we follow are pretty well computer generated keyword lists in eight of the first ten.

Number nine is amazon, and there we are in position ten.

While I can appreciate that we may benefit from this type of positioning, as Joe or Josie Surfer, I'm seeing less and less benefit to using the google results. Lately there seems to be a lot of 'not relevant' results that either try to force a download on you or are simply just computer-generated word list sites.

What I am going to do, however, is to go over these word list sites because if they can get highly listed with crap content, they must be doing something right.
