    Yes,

    48-72 hr. inclusion

page is refreshed every couple of days

If the url you submit isn't doing so good, make changes and you can see the affect of those changes pretty quickly. You can also edit/change your url to a completely different one on the same domain if the url isn't doing as well as expected, try another one.

After the first url which is $39 the rest are $25 a pop. So i look at it this way. Can i make $2.09 a month from this page. You should be able to and if so submit. Also read the SE forum down below, and remember in a couple of months Yahoo will be using INK, so well worth it IMO.

    In my opinion, no.

Inktomi has been dropping sites since the middle of last year. In my experience if a dropped site also includes paid for inclusion pages, then they don't get dropped, but get shunted to the bottom of the serps, so the effect is the same.

My site pages in Ink have done squat. I put a couple in to see what results would be.
The place I have them set up from says the following when checking if page was refreshed; data temporarily not available
So far a total waste of money

Switch it to another page and keep trying. Don't know who you submitted with but i recommend marketleap, never had a problem and they have some nice stats.

I've used Ink on several new sites to help get them going with traffic. I think it's worth the money.

Don't use the Ineedhits service, it stinks.

Other than that, Inktomi is pretty good but don't go overboard. If you pick a page that does pretty well in Google, paying for inclusion in Ink seems to work too.

Yeah, I agree with Dynamoo about Ineedhits--I used to like them but lately they have really gotten bad.

As for Inktomi itself, I've found it to be a good investment. And the fast refresh comes in handy sometimes, too.

    too late

I sent them am e mail voicing my displeasure about a few things

Even if they get pissed off because of my mail and pull the sites it's not like it was paying for itself anyways

Trying to change the actual page and its a bloody nightmare trying to find how to do it.

Soul_Rebel: I spent almost a month with no stats at Ineedhits. If I want to change a URL I have to email this guy in Australia.. but the mailserver bounces messages from my ISP so I have to use a web mail account. Support forms are all broken too.

Walleye: try emailing Peter.Gavalas-at-ineedhits.com - he seems to be able to do the URL changes.

I still can't figure out optimisation for Ink, so what I do is look at those pages that are doing well with Google and submit those. It generally works pretty OK as a strategy.

    Thanks Dynamoo
Form errored out, sent an e mail
Haven't got a clue about changing the URL as their instructions are non existant
I had chosen a couple of my pages that had a few key phrases doing ok in Google
So low I can't even find them in INK with same terms
I did voice my concerns that it shows last time refreshed as date temp not available
This is totally unacceptable as has been like this for well over a week
I could see if this was a free service, but to pay and get it like this will see me go elsewhere in the future.

Walleye, i would just go to marketleap. You'll pay $39 again for the first url but the ones after it will all be $25.

It's also very easy switching urls. Submit a couple, if they don't do as well as expected you can switch them to another url in a manner of seconds, very easy. Good way to practice and get a hang of it, then submit more.

There is a page that lists all the urls you submitted. You just hit the Edit URL link next to the one you want to change, put in a new url and hit submit, thats it. I did this with one that wasn't doing so great and within 3 days the new url was getting traffic.

Stats are great, show the date the page was last refreshed, how many hits each page gets, what keywords were used to find the page etc.

Rumor has it Inktomi's traffic will significantly increase in February and I'm not sure if this has to do with Looksmart pulling out of MSN, Yahoo, or other big projects in the works.

What Dynamoo and Walleye said about Ineedhits. I have the suspicion that they're not going to be in business for long, and they know it, so they've let service go to blazes.

It's too bad because when I first started using them they were A-Ok.

Inktomi's bot came by the site this morning and checked out ONE other page besides my home page and robots.txt *crossing fingers for more*

Is yahoo testing inktomi results every other day? My traffic logs show google with a commanding lead but yahoo with a fairly large chunk.. yet it's like someone turning a lightswitch on and off every other day.. traffic is up, traffic is down, up, down.

Maybe I'll pick up a paid inclusion for one of my sites when my first yet tiny adsense check comes.. the irony.. google paying for my yahoo inclusion.

If you have pages that are already in Overture and/or MSN, are there any advantages for paying for inclusion in Inktomi?

Paying doesn't improve your page's position in the search result does it? And, if you are already in one search engine powered by Inktomi, then wouldn't you be in all of them?

I ask all this because I am trying to decide if there is any reason for me to make the investment.
