    Landing sites?
Could members post some examples of landing sites? I hear them mentioned a lot but am not sure exactly what they look like. Thanks!

What kind of landing sites? You mean you want affiliates to post their landing pages? (not going to happen) or merchants post their landing pages? (those are in the merchant accounts when you go looking for links).

    Yes. Search Marketer sites.

Why? Are they secret? Are they impossible to find with some digging?

    Are www.Hubpages.com, www.Squidoo.com, www.Ezinearticles.com considered landing sites?

I've read that Amazon and eBay don't let you directly link from Adwords to specific items on their sites. That you must use your own landing pages.

So what are some examples of landing pages? Just trying to understand ...

You can use Hub & Squidoo as landing pages. Ezine - you can put one of your links to a hubpage or squidoo lens in the "resource box" of your article.

You might benefit from going to the "site review" section here on ABW as well.

Yes, digging will help to. Find a niche and then look at the current search ads - don't click on them of course but copy and paste the display url to get an idea of their landing page to generate some ideas for your own.

Ignore the smart*** people on here and keep pressing forward!

Just go to google and type in "weight loss" bam you've got plenty of landing page examples for weight loss. A landing page, the way you mean it in this context, is just the page the surfer lands on after clicking a paid ad in search results. That's it.

You could, in theory, promote a weight loss product sold at eBay or Amazon, however this would be stupid because you can make far more elsewhere.

That's just an example. Obviously a landing page applies to any niche, not just weight loss. Sometimes a landing page is a form (try searching for 'mortgage quotes'), sometimes it's a small comparison shopping page, sometimes it's a mini review site, sometimes it's a fake blog, etc. There are all kinds of landing pages.

Hubpages, squidoo, and ezinearticles are not landing pages. You *could* create a squidoo lens to use a landing page but that would be silly. You should host landing pages yourself.

A landing page is a page on your website that you create or that you get from the affiliate program you are promoting. Most effective landing pages are ones you create yourself.

The reason companies are changing from allowing direct to merchant PPC to requiring you to have your own website is the basic principle of affiliate marketing is that you drive traffic to the merchant that they can't get themselves. If you are an awesome PPC expert that writes great ads that convert well, take that skill and use it to drive those shoppers to your own website where you control the content and can ultimately send the shopper to the offer that is paying the best for the thing you are promoting.

When you send your traffic direct to merchant, you don't get any long term value from those clicks and that money you spent.

A good landing page is like gold, why would another affiliate show you theirs? And yes, the good ones can be found easily in SE searches because they generally aren't just for PPC ads, they are SEOd for general searches also.

There is a lot of information here at ABestWeb about building sites, and landing pages. They just may not be *called* landing pages.

Aw, son of a gun, BurgerBoy. You got me again!! I was so compelled by that pithy, creative sales copy -- I couldn't help myself. I bought another copy of the eBook.

That's the fourth one this week.

Well, go there - read it again tomorrow - and buy a fifth one.

I'm having to spend a lot of money bailing out other people that are to lazy to get a job and work.

I thinking about starting to sell grass online writerguy. People always have plenty of money to spend on that.

Of course, they are probably going to be mad when they receive it, and smoke it, and find out it's Kentucky 31 fescue from when I mow my yard every week.

It would be hard for them to do anything about it though because who wants to admit to the police they thought they were ordering weed when they ordered it.

So -- if someone buys a copy of your wonderful ebook through the blog post I just made, are you gonna give me an extremely reasonable 50% affiliate commission??

I had rather price your commission like the gas companies price their gas - 49.9% commission - but the cookie length is only 120 seconds.
