    Question RSS feeds with WebMerge?
I do not know if anybody will have tried it already and he can comment on it.

For us, that we do not work with affiliate data, but we create our own contents it would be very interesting to create RSS feeds from our database.

I imagine that this might be done from WebMerge's Index Pages, since the feeds are not any more than files XML.

    Not?

Yelmo, I tried to send you an email and then a private message, but your account here doesn't currently allow either.

Please send me an email to ambassador@fourthworld.com when you have a chance, and I'll reply with my message.

    Thanks -

My new design incorporates RSS feeds for google and yahoo using Webmerge. It is quite simple. However, you will have to tweak the code to your specs and I use datafeeds to do so. Anyway, I will be more than happy to assist you.

    Cheers,
    Freeman

Thanks for your offer to help, Freeman. Feel free to post any tips you have here.

Using a good template can do some of the work for generating RSS using WebMerge as it is today, esp. with v2.5's new "maxlen" attribute to cut off descriptions at a specified length, making them more suitable for use in an RSS.

But I think it can be even easier, effectively having WebMerge auto-generate the template on the fly for you. That's the goal, anyway. There are a number of interface enhancements that I'd like to put into place before I'd be really happy with it, but I'll see what I can do to get this started with even a modest tool in v2.6. If it saves even a few steps it seem be worth delivering.

I agree with Richard, You will indeed need a good template to do some of the work for you. Basically, all you have to do is to set your code to match you feed or self created tables, etc..
    With WebMerge it's simple.
