I am not sure if I can explain this correctly but I am hoping this is happening to someone other than me.

After changing banners on most of my sites, I am now noticing once in a while a dang POOP-UP. I do not have pop-ups, but when the pop-up takes place I notice its one of the merchants on that page, the URL has my PID also. (Twilight zone music playing)

It’s freaking me out; I actually took a nap thinking I was loosing it when it happened early this morning. Now I am fully rested it happened again when I opened my auto site.

    Any suggestions?
    Anyone else having that problem?

Want to help me and see if it happens to you? If you do please click into AutoGoodies and browse around. It took me 3 page views and a DAMN pop-up scared me!

I am not trying to get traffic, as this site has no paid CPM promotions. It’s a site that relies on sales only.

    Hi Sandra,

Checked out your site, I remember being there before! Don't remember why, but I recognized your site. Probably found it in the SEs while searching for something for my car.

Nothing popped up on me while there, and I'm using my *known clean* computer, so I'd venture to guess you have something on your computer that's doing it, or you really are going whacky.

If you want me to check something specific, a certain link or merchant, etc., PM me and I'll go back and take a look. I can also check on another computer tomorrow if you're still having probs.

    Andy

Thank you everyone for checking this out for me.

I am real confused now; I am getting parasites from myself, with my PID?

Time to run the Spybot-Virus scanner again just incase.

As for the: bobble heads - this site is in constant addition repair and who knows what else!

Again thank you everyone for your help in this strange matter.

Maybe you caught something from one of those new banner programs you have been testing out for the Norton link blocking problem?

Dang woman you are on the front page! You are also under the category Auto Stores.

    Linda,

I think you may be right about getting something while I was testing those banners out. About the Norton banner fight. I can now actually get the google ads to show and click through but they refuse to track. Still working on it. Before long Norton can kiss all our booties.

I had an Alexa popup blocker popup on my clean machine. I still have not figured out what happened.

I think it was just a popup to set a link using the alexa graphics, but cannot prove anything.

I agree it’s so odd that it added my PID, that’s why I had to ask everyone here.

Since the clean no more problems.

I did not download ncase; I have no idea where I got it from has to be a drive by when I was checking out all the different banner programs.

Just a note here, I am now running ZoneAlarm, Norton and McAfee and those parasites are still attacking my computer.

Well good luck tyring to uninstall it! From what I have read it is not so easy, and it can reinstall itself again if its not completely removed. It does not make sense that the pop up has your ID. I hate to scare you but I wonder if it is popping on other affiliate sites making you one of those parasite affiliates. Could it be that there is some type of foul play going on?

SandraR I got that 180Solutions/ncase bugger by a drive-by install with all shield up 2 weeks ago. That whack the penquin game link might be the culpret as it make some attempt to download something and I did a quick ctrl+alt+del browser shut down.

Hard to get off the beaten path as the networks seem to relish their BHO drive-by partners activities to infest more systems. Damn shame they didn't take a united stand to bar all BHO's who pimp drive-by installs from the sleezebag affiliates taking lead fees.

    >It does not make sense that the pop up has your ID.

Maybe it LOOKS like her PID but is masking the REAL PID?

You can fool MS IE into showing a URL in the navigation bar which is different to the real URL you are at, and another security hole was found today that can make people THINK they're clicking on a safely downloadable file (say a PDF) when it turns out to be an .exe. (See http://www.infoworld.com/article/04/...Niehole_1.html )

So masking someone's PID is probably trivial.

    Sandra,

I didn't see a way to email you from your site, I am not very pleased to see my photograph, which is copyright protected on your petsite.

    http://www.petgoodies.net/pets/catbreed/abyssinian.html

The abyssinian is my cat and the photograph is clearly marked as copyright by me, I don't recall giving permission for it's use.

Here's another huge problem for system owners and affiliates. This virus and it's 3rd world authors have an open backdoor on all infected systems. You can bet the BHO operators are scanning for the trojan horse open backdoors and stuffing their parasiteware and spywarez onto systems, which will be left behind even if the anti-virus program scans and removes the virus.

    http://www.infoworld.com/article/04/...Ndoomed_1.html

that 2500 systems scanning 24/7 to plant their own malware into the infected systems.
