I like to visit eBay's Big Ticket items (I believe that they are items over $5,000?) and there are usually some humorous posts..

Today, there's one that's very interesting. In the news recently, there is a guy in Vancouver, BC, Canada named Mike Rowe.. who is being sued by Microsoft because of his web site Mike Rowe Soft..

On eBay today (item #3382073018) he's selling his document sent to him by the attorneys at the big M. (you can go to eBay and enter the number in the search to view it)

    Bidding us up to $23,692.30!!

Up to over $24,000 now. Can you imagine? What in the world would anyone want with this? Whatever it is, the attraction is beyond me. I hope the guy makes a ton, he'll need it for legal fees!

That is so amusing - twisted that anyone would pay that much - but amusing none the less

OK I was curious so I looked it up. Mike settled out of court with Microsoft here's his list of prises err settlement:
In exchange for the domain, Microsoft has given Mike:

    • His expenses paid,
    • The cost of switching to a new site,
    • Training on certification of Microsoft products,
    • Subscription to Microsoft's developer program website,
    • An Xbox games console with games,
    • An invitation for himself and his parents to Microsoft's HQ in Washington for an annual technology fair.
    • A copy of the microsoft homegame
    • One case of turtle wax
    • Rice-a-roni the San Francisco treat

OK Ok, I made up the bit about the home game, turtle wax and rice-a-roni, but come on, a xbox console with games and an invitation to a technology fair. Seems the boy wanted $10,000, I guess he'll get it from his ebay sale instead.

Yesterday his auction was over $200K with 3 days to go and now it's around $560.00 with 2 days to go.

    The auction site says this

I have now removed all of the bids because of the amount of bogus bids this auction has received. If you were a serious bidder please contact me and I will forward you the stipulations of the auction.
