Not sure exactly where to post this..
A friend of a friend, asked me about credit card processing. Anyone here have any experience?

Verisign? PayPal? First Bank of Omaha?

Looking for competetive processing fees, w/o huge deposits.

Any/all info would be greatly appreciated..
    Cheers..

    2checkout.com

I use it for Pierced Body, it's not bad, cheap to set up, reasonbable commission fee and good Credit card verification.

    Cheers

The charges seem a bit steep?!?!!!?!?
    $49 Setup Fee
    $0.45 per Transaction
    5.5% of Transaction Amount

Anyone have any good or bad to say about PayPal?

    How about Verisign?

Any others to stay away from, or contact?

If you do a search for PayPal on a search engine like Google, you're bound to find some horror stories about accts being locked, money lost, etc... plus it doesn't appear as professional as a true merchant acct.

I had a bad experience w/ 2checkout.com and you can probably find a post or two by searching here on ABW. I'd suggest looking into PaySystems.com. One of their people is going out of their way to help me w/ a scripting issue...it's nice when a company goes above and beyond the call of duty (& the company's policy)

Paypal tends to get a bad rap because they deal with people who have never had a merchant account and don't understand, under all circumstances, the merchant always gets screwed. That said, you would do better than just having them, but they are a good option in addition to credit cards.

If you are doing over $1000 a month, a real processor is the way to go. We use authorize.net and wellsfargo and are 100% happy.
