Please thank a veteran this weekend.
Please thank a veteran for our freedom of tweets, er, I mean speech, this weekend. I met one yesterday who was a frightened 18 year old (from Bozeman, Montana) hitting Omaha beach. If you don't know what that means, please look it up. You will be glad you did, and grateful, I hope. Thanks again, Frank Johnson, it was fun talking with you!

Thank you, grandpa. I think of you every time I see the Iwo Jima memorial and I still miss you.

There are other vets I'll thank this weekend, but there are those we can't thank enough and aren't around still to hear our gratitude.
-Don't criticize anyone til you've walked a mile in their shoes. Then when you do criticize them, you'll be a mile away and have their shoes.

I was coming to post something similar, yours is perfect summation.

My Dad, his brothers, other ancestors that were in all of the wars.

Former military that are still around, one of my merchants that I manage (you all mostly know him), my daughter and son-in-law. None of them were in wars, but they are still vets.

    Memorial Day
I will be going to a ceremony in my town(Lynden Washington)in an hour.
This afternoon I'm going to Bellingham to a Ceremony at
Greenacres Memorial Park. The person raising the flag there will be Greeley Wells. He delivered the flag that was raised at Iwo Jima. As a Vet I feel honored -not many WWII soldiers around and they deserve our respect and gratitude. As do all who serve.
