I don't know how many ABW members frequent the Amazon associate boards, but it's been brought up over there that TinyURL replaces affiliate IDs with it's own. So anyone using this 'service' may want to check if their links are tracking.

It may have been reported here, it may be irrelevant, but I just thought I'd mention it just in case.

This is the original assoc board post:

    It's been mentioned...in the ABW/Amazon forum below.

Unreal that they would try to get away with this!

I just got spammed by them yesterday. Offering exclusive keywords for sale. As soon as a user types your keyword into any search box it directs them to your target page, thus circumventing the SERPS.

Saw it. Also saw an earlier thread about it on these boards. Don't know if any of it is true but am sure we don't need multiple threads about it here.

TinyURL has responded that the original "accuser" is in error in his understanding of the affiliate linking that affiliate links go through correctly. A regular on the Amazon boards, an individual whose opinion I respect has stated that his affiliate link through TinyURL resolves correctly.

    I think this may be a non-issue.

If you bothered to read my original post, I apologised in advance in case this had already been mentioned here - I don't read the Amazon board here so didn't see the post. I know you dislike me but there's no need to be rude in a completely different thread.

I think if you or the others read the rest of the thread there still may be an issue - his explanation of how he identifies an affiliate URL (if it has -20 on the end) is a bit dodgy. I know some of my affiliate IDs don't have -20 on the end.

At any rate, it could be important information for some people.
