Been on Dreamweaver since version 2, probably back in 1998 or 1999. Seems like 50 years ago.

Why not use something that does all of the task in one program?

We recently bought Dreamweaver. I like it simply for the tools like find/replace and the color coding of file contents. Used Homesite for years, and I must say I miss it a bit.

I have never used any software to actually write html pages themselves, and best tool I've ever known for constructing html pages is cut-n-paste

I've had both D/W and Adobe's GoLive for years. Somehow just fell into the GoLive habit. No longer use DreamWeaver at all.

    DW, text edit.

still occasionally use Frontpage for an old site. Need to convert that site eventually as my host does not support FP anymore.

MacVim, and I absolutely love it. I used Vim 7 for a few years and finally made the switch to tabbed vimming earlier this year. No more manual buffer switching for me.

    Dreamweaver and Notepad

Have used Dreamweaver since it was first introduced and used something called HoTMetaL before that - which means I have been doing this too long.

Textmate (paid) on the mac, Jedit on the PC (free could use on mac also). TextWrangler (from makers of bbedit (free)) for opening huge datafeeds like the 8 gb amazon files.

phpDesigner about 90% of the time and Dreamweaver about 10%. phpDesigner keeps getting better and better and it's relatively low cost. It's not just for PHP.

I write php, css and html with one tool... good ol' notepad. Although recently many of the sites have used wordpress as the foundation and popping in pre-made templates as needed.
