    They chunked about 50 grenades at the police too! -

    And mysteriously, 5 police were rescued, un-hurt inside the home saying they were kidnapped - RIGHT!

    2 hours of mayhem must have been like a war zone.

    I get the point. It is a dangerous world, if we let it be.
    On my last trip to Japan, there was some extra security at the airport. Police were patroling in numbers and carrying automatoc rifles. It all made me a little nervous.

    On a recent trip in South Carolina, I saw a sign in front of a gun shop openly advertising assault rifles for sale. WHY?????

    Last summer I took the Greyhound bus to New London CT.
    I'm not so sure if I should do that again:
    Tim McLean, 22, was fatally stabbed, beheaded, dismembered and cannibalized in front of other passengers [on a Greyhound bus] last July near Portage la Prairie. {Canada}

    Greyhound {Canada} cleaned up the bus and is using the same one again: http://www.officialwire.com/main.php..._news&rid=5118

    LostDeviant - You are right, there isn't a safe place to go anymore. Nothing against Mexico. It just seems like only bad news is coming from such a great place lately.

    Really? Perhaps some of it is yellow journalism, but it certainly looks like Mexico is a dangerous place at the moment. However, a lot of the recent violence seems to be because the authorities are taking real action against the criminals.

    I think though it is true of many countries (including mine) - end up in the wrong place and you could be in serious trouble. Especially if you are wearing a Hawaiian shirt and an expensive camera..
