    PHP 5 error
    My Service Provider has just upgraded to PHP 5 - and since then all my shops have stopped working I am now getting

    Warning: include() [function.include]: URL file-access is disabled in the server configuration in xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx (xxxx being my URL).

    I have tried to change the include($URL);to read($URL); - this did not work

    I tried the curl

    $URL = "";
    $PageURL = urlencode($_SERVER['SCRIPT_NAME'].'?'.$_SERVER['QUERY_STRING']);
    $IPAddress = urlencode($_SERVER['REMOTE_ADDR']);
    $UserAgent = urlencode($_SERVER['HTTP_USER_AGENT']);
    // create a new CURL resource
    $ch = curl_init();
    // set URL and other appropriate options
    curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_URL, "$goldencanurl");
    curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_HEADER, false);
    // grab URL and pass it to the browser
    // close CURL resource, and free up system resources

    with the xxx being my SID reference - and still no luck.

    My files are .php (even tried changing them to .html) and my htaccess file has the following information

    AddHandler application/x-httpd-php .htm
    AddHandler application/x-httpd-php .html

    I even tried deleting the .htaccess file - I am on a shared server with Cpanel.

    Can someone please shed some light on where I am going wrong?

    Hi TracyT,

    It looks like your hosting company has disabled the PHP include function.

    Please try readfile($URL); instead of read($URL); and let us know if it works.

    Please verify from your hosting company whether they have enabled allow_url_include for you or not. GoldenCAN PHP code can run only and only if 'allow_url_include' is enabled for your website.
    Thank You,

    Yep the readfile($URL); worked perfectly

    Bless you - I was about to toss my computer out the window I was getting so frustrated
