IE 8 Accelerators - Potential Problems?
RetailMeNot has an IE 8 Accelerator Add-on and so does FatWallet. I haven't looked into it all but wonder if this has the potential for trouble like the toolbars. Is it just another form of BHO.

I wouldn't consider them to be BHOs. They require user action to work. You have to highlight some text, then select the accelerator to run. Some of the accelerators are pretty handy. Highlight an address and pull up the Google Maps accelerator to quickly pull up a map. Highlight an amount in a foreign currency and use the Google currency conversion accelerator to convert it to US$.

Right, as it is now it's too cumbersome of a process to be considered a BHO process - use of the accelerator IMO is a definitive end user action since it's so involved --- I didn't actually know how to use the FW or RMN apps until I read what Michael posted and actually tried it.
