I know I haven't posted in a while and I miss a lot of you. I've been going through some tough times in life lately where I've discovered I don't have any self esteem or faith. Hopefully eventually I will get better and can come back and converse with people again.

That's the right attitude, one day at a time. You WILL get better. Everyone struggles with this now and then. Just know that the dark clouds do part eventually.

I hope that things work out for you soon. These feelings really do get us down but I believe that you will find your way.
A year ago, I thought my career and life were at a standstill. I had no hope and I thought my future wadsgrim.

Those dark hours and days, got me down and depression set in. Finally I found my way out of the quagmire.

I will pray for you. Good Luck!

I think many of us get a touch of that once and a while, but aren't as open as you about it. We like a positive front. Hang in there.

Yeah things can get rough sometimes. And no matter how bad things get, it's still always easier to make good things happen than to sit and hope for good things to come your way, so keep yer head up and keep yer hands busy.

When I feel down, I look for an opportunity to do something unexpected for someone else - a random act of kindness. It always acts as a pick-me-up.

"This too shall pass." Hang in there, and love yourself. There is only one of you in the entire world! You are special and unique and have talents all your own...and we are so happy you are part of the ABW family.

Being where you are eats the big one, also been there. It seems like the dark clouds will never go away, but they do. If you don't believe in yourself, no one else can either. As davidh says, keep busy...take even the smallest actions that help you move forward. Give yourself a little gift every day: a short walk, do whatever makes you feel good about yourself. It may not be easy, but avoid people who drag you down while you feel this bad yourself.

Also helpful: avoid sugar & alcohol, maybe take some vitamin supplements (like B vitamins, fish oil), do some sort of exercise daily. Doesn't have to be joining a gym or regular workouts: put on some upbeat music and shake your booty!

Best to you in getting through this.

Thanks for all the kind words everyone. I am feeling great the last couple of days thx to a lot of praying and starting to believe in Faith. I would not of got through it without God and without a special member here who shall remain nameless because I don't want to embarass them.

I think the thing that hit me the most during this time is I have not been one that hangs out with people. I have always felt like the outsider. Lately after doing a show, I was invited to hang out with two great friends one I now consider the brother I never had. Despite their great friendship tho, I went through a night of self hate in which I told them I didn't deserve them. I am not very athletic and would not consider myself good looking.

The other thing that has distressed me during this time is missing this particular friend so much. It is like an ache in the gut. I think it is because this person has been there every night and I have told him stuff I have never told anyone. Quite simply I love him and I have never loved anyone before this.

Sorry this is so long winded but I wanted to share what I was feeling with you and hopefully help out anyone else that is experiencing the same things as I was. The most important thing I have learned is to remember that you are never alone, that there is always a Being there to walk beside you.

One night I dreamed I was walking along the beach with the Lord. Many scenes from my life flashed across the sky.

In each scene I noticed footprints in the sand. Sometimes there were two sets of footprints, other times there was one only.

This bothered me because I noticed that during the low periods of my life, when I was suffering from anguish, sorrow or defeat, I could see only one set of footprints, so I said to the Lord,

“You promised me Lord, that if I followed you, you would walk with me always. But I have noticed that during the most trying periods of my life there has only been one set of footprints in the sand. Why, when I needed you most, have you not been there for me?”

The Lord replied, “The years when you have seen only one set of footprints, my child, is when I carried you.”

Always remember God created you for a special purpose.

Let me share this story with you:

    THIS WILL GIVE YOU CHILLS:

AFTER A FEW OF THE USUAL SUNDAY EVENING HYMNS,

THE CHURCH'S PASTOR SLOWLY STOOD UP,

WALKED OVER TO THE PULPIT AND,

BEFORE HE GAVE HIS SERMON FOR THE EVENING,

HE BRIEFLY INTRODUCED A GUEST MINISTER

WHO WAS IN THE SERVICE THAT EVENING.

IN THE INTRODUCTION, THE PASTOR TOLD THE

CONGREGATION THAT THE GUEST MINISTER WAS

ONE OF HIS DEAREST CHILDHOOD FRIENDS AND

THAT HE WANTED HIM TO HAVE A FEW MOMENTS

TO GREET THE CHURCH AND SHARE WHATEVER

HE FELT WOULD BE APPROPRIATE FOR THE SERVICE..

WITH THAT, AN ELDERLY MAN STEPPED UP TO THE

    PULPIT AND BEGAN TO SPEAK.

'A FATHER, HIS SON, AND A FRIEND OF HIS SON WERE

SAILING OFF THE PACIFIC COAST ,' HE BEGAN.

'WHEN A FAST APPROACHING STORM BLOCKED ANY

ATTEMPT TO GET BACK TO THE SHORE.

THE WAVES WERE SO HIGH, THAT EVEN THOUGH THE

FATHER WAS AN EXPERIENCED SAILOR, HE COULD NOT

KEEP THE BOAT UPRIGHT AND THE THREE WERE SWEPT

INTO THE OCEAN AS THE BOAT CAPSIZED.'

THE OLD MAN HESITATED FOR A MOMENT,

MAKING EYE CONTACT WITH TWO TEENAGERS WHO WERE,

FOR THE FIRST TIME SINCE THE SERVICE BEGAN,

LOOKING SOMEWHAT INTERESTED IN HIS STORY.

THE AGED MINISTER CONTI NUED WITH HIS STORY,

'GRABBING A RESCUE LINE, THE FATHER HAD TO MAKE THE

MOST EXCRUCIATING DECISION OF HIS LIFE: TO WHICH BOY

WOULD HE THROW THE OTHER END OF THE LIFE LINE.

HE ONLY HAD SECONDS TO MAKE THE DECISION.

THE FATHER KNEW THAT HIS SON WAS A CHRISTIAN AND

HE, ALSO, KNEW THAT HIS SON'S FRIEND WAS NOT.

THE AGONY OF HIS DECISION COULD NOT BE MATCHED BY

    THE TORRENT OF WAVES..

AS THE FATHER YELLED OUT, 'I LOVE YOU, SON!'

HE THREW OUT THE LIFE LINE TO HIS SON'S FRIEND.

BY THE TIME THE FATHER HAD PULLED THE FRIEND BACK

TO THE CAPSIZED BOAT, HIS SON HAD DISAPPEARED BENEATH

THE RAGING SWELLS INTO THE BLACK OF NIGHT.

    HIS BODY WAS NEVER RECOVERED.

BY THIS TIME, THE TWO TEENAGERS WERE SITTING UP

STRAIGHT IN THE PEW, ANXIOUSLY WAITING FOR THE NEXT

WORDS TO COME OUT OF THE OLD MINISTER'S MOUTH.

'THE FATHER,' HE CONTINUED, 'KNEW HIS SON WOULD

STEP INTO ETERNITY WITH JESUS AND HE COULD NOT

BEAR THE THOUGHT OF HIS SON'S FRIEND STEPPING INTO

AN ETERNITY WITHOUT JESUS.. THEREFORE, HE SACRIFICED

HIS SON TO SAVE THE SON'S FRIEND. '

HOW GREAT IS THE LOVE OF GOD THAT HE SHOULD DO THE

SAME FOR US. OUR HEAVENLY FATHER SACRIFICED HIS ONLY

BEGOTTEN SON THAT WE COULD BE SAVED. I URGE YOU TO

ACCEPT HIS OFFER TO RESCUE YOU AND TAKE A HOLD OF THE

LIFE LINE HE IS THROWING OUT TO YOU IN THIS SERVICE.'

WITH THAT, THE OLD MAN TURNED AND SAT BACK DOWN IN

HIS CHAIR AS SILENCE FILLED THE ROOM.

THE PASTOR AGAIN WALKED SLOWLY TO THE PULPIT AND

DELIVERED A BRIEF SERMON WITH AN INVITATION AT THE

END. HOWEVER, NO ONE RESPONDED TO THE APPEAL.

WITHIN MINUTES AFTER THE SERVICE ENDED, THE TWO

TEENAGERS WERE AT THE OLD MAN'S SIDE.

'THAT WAS A NICE STORY,' POLITELY STATED ONE OF

THEM,'BUT I DON'T THINK IT WAS VERY REALISTIC FOR A

FATHER TO GIVE UP HIS ONLY SON'S LIFE IN HOPES THAT

THE OTHER BOY WOULD BECOME A CHRISTIAN.'

'WELL, YOU'VE GOT A POINT THERE,' THE OLD MAN REPLIED,

GLANCING DOWN AT HIS WORN BIBLE. A BIG SMILE BROADENED

HIS NARROW FACE. HE ONCE AGAIN LOOKED UP AT THE BOYS

AND SAID, 'IT SURE ISN'T VERY REALISTIC, IS IT? BUT,

I'M STANDING HERE TODAY TO TELL YOU THAT STORY GIVES

ME A GLIMPSE OF WHAT IT MUST HAVE BEEN LIKE FOR GOD

TO GIVE UP HIS SON FOR ME.

    YOU SEE...

I WAS THAT FATHER AND YOUR PASTOR IS MY SON'S FRIEND.
