I Hope No One Has Fallen For This...
I can't fathom that anyone would be so naive as to actually do this, but wanted to pass this along just to be sure.

Didn't fall for that one. But it brings to mind a "weird" email I received a week ago saying, "Affiliate Program Application Declined." I had not recently applied to a program, but upon reading the email explained it was for a DMC account where the program was sold and now a new program was using that account - and I was invited to look and and apply to the new program. Curiosity did get me to "look" at the program. It seemed to have your name attached (A. Hamilton) but appeared to be a get rich quick pharmacy scheme. While I certainly have sympathy for anyone who is scammed, what the hell are people thinking just mailing valuable items in the mail to some unknown company?
I had some jewelry to sell, and I found one of those traveling gold buyers who come to local hotels. They were VERY professional. evaluated my things while I sat right in front of them, and then gave me the option whether or not to accept their offer.
I asked a lot of questions and got a great education. And was very happy with the amount I received.

The irony is that the Google Adsense displays image ads for this company.

Seen the TV commercial - seemed legit. But . . . I have no gold!

Thanks for the heads up. All seems barely legal except the promise to give you the check within 24 hours and then count the 7-10 actual days it takes as part of the 10 days - the FTC should hammer them for this.

Legal or not, it is quite the racket.

That's exactly one of the things I don't like about G.

While some of our sites get buried because duplicate content, or whatever other other innocent technical stuff, sites like that one, or other just made for adsense site, get listed ahead of the rest...

    BTW!

Who's making the money on these "crap4gold" adsense ad's:

If I had valuable jewelry I would never allow it to leave my sight. I would rather spend the time and effort going to local appraisers than taking the chance of putting it in the mail and never seeing it again. Unfortunately, people seem desperate for extra money these days and that gives scammers the perfect opportunity to take advantage of them.

I don't have anything gold that I can think of except, of course, for my giant dollar bill necklace that I wear to work every day like this one...

I second Joy and Mr. Sal re Google.

The irony is that the Google Adsense displays image ads for this company.
That's exactly one of the things I don't like about G.
On my site about PC security I quickly realised that most pages could not have AdSense ads - because ads would appear from the very same low-quality/pushy-advertising vendors that my site warns people about.

Many keywords just attract more bad advertisers than I can blacklist.
