Suggestions for merchants who absolutely have to drop affiliates due to tax law...
    Dear Affiliate Manager,

I understand you are going through a rough time, and that your lawyers are probably giving you grief and telling you to drop your affiliates in Hawaii, North Carolina, possibly California...

When you send out your break-up email, could you please include information on how affiliates can help fight the good fight? Strongly encourage them to contact their local representatives, and even give them a sample letter to send in. Perhaps you could even incentivize them to participate, by offering them a final $5 parting gift in exchange for their help. In fact, I've attached one you can use. It's for California, but you can easily adapt it for other states.

Again, I know it's a difficult and sad situation, you've probably got no chance of hitting the numbers you thought you were going to hit this year, but please don't go down without a fight. You've got a lot of affiliates who are seeing their livelihoods taken away from, give them the tools they need to get it back.

Great suggestion and advice Carolyn (but psst it's North Carolina).

Also, it's not so much the terminations as it is the manner in which it's handled. I am more than happy to discuss things with any merchant or affiliate.

@Carolyn - It has been great to see your proactive approach to improving merchant and affiliate experience. It is one of the big reasons I have recently chosen SAS for our network. Keep up the good work!
