OUT with the NEW & IN with the OLD - :-(
Been trying to find the perfect new affiliate(s) fit for my site for 3 months to the day today.

    No Luck -

I'm disappointed in myself and my sites for not being able to provide results for some affiliate programs and managers that have given me everything I've asked for, and I've produced no real income.

In many cases, NOT A FREAKING DIME. - x 2

I've decided to go back to my long time partners (that have nothing to do with the Big 4 and others) that I have been dealing with for years and promote them more heavily.

I'm kind of bummed with this decision and feel I have let some folks down, but ...

Anyone else having trouble finding TOP performers?

$1000 plus / month commissions at least, with traffic in the 200,000 plus page view range?

    75,000 - 100,000 dedicated to new advertisers?

You'd think that it wouldn't be an issue. -

    Thoughts?

Think I also need to STOP adding new content and rome through the 1000's of content pages I have and get them indexed better.

Things just change too quickly! -

Hey Jimmy, have you tried optimizing your AdSense units and placements on some of your high-traffic pages? I've got a couple of small niche sites (dozen pages or so) with one of those sites focusing on something related to you - info about A/C Units. I tried a few different "items" like tools and repair/maintenance books and got ZIP.

So I went back in, tossed those ads and added in an additional AdS 300x250 unit in the center (Put the Money in the Middle) of the narrative. The site averages 3500-4000 page views per month and seven to ten bucks a day with AdS. While not enough to quit the day-j*b for, it does add up, uses almost no resources and I don't even have to touch the site.

If you would like to see it, send me a PM and I'll share the URL with you.

You may want to put up your site in the review section to get feedback.

The reason I mention this is:

    (1) Some of your pages have returned a 404 (actually quite a few) that were under the /solutions/ directory. I don't know how I got there and can't seem to find the path. But one page is e.g. ../solutions/inspector_map.htm. It seem that after clicking around a bit on your site, those links on the left side start turning into 404s. Maybe someone else can check if that happens with them.

    (2) On other pages, in FF on the mac (can't look on my pc right now since it is on its way out and I only can use it in safe mode with no internet) there seem to be an overlay of other graphics and text so that the page is not readable.

    (3) e.g. on page .../heating_cooling_contractors.htm there seem to be a yellow banner below the nav bar that is peaking out but not the whole banner is displayed. To check different browsers go to browsershots.org

    (4) What is your bounce rate? If you have a high bounce rate, you can try to figure out at which pages or topics people are skipping out. Is it because the page does not display? Maybe your banner is not showing up in different browsers. Also, that overlay text I mentioned.

    (5) Have someone else do a test purchase and navigate the site to see if the sales goes through and if they had trouble finding things.

    Thanks Ladidah....

Most of that should be resolved later today!

I'm in the middle of tearing out old xxxx/solutions pages ( that's my store ) that have products that I don't sell anymore, but are still indexed ( which resullts in phone calls that I can't fulfill )

I have things torn into pieces at the moment and am frantically trying to make it a smoothe transition.

Just figured that the holidays would be a good time to try and pull this off.

2200 pages of content and over 6500 pages with the store / blog and BB. -

I REALLY APPRECIATE YOU LOOKING AROUND -

I just may have my undies showing right now as I am a ONE MAN SHOW!

Takes me about 40 hours to make major changes and everything is linked in one way or the other. -

Here is some of the screenshots of things I saw.

Also if you are deleting pages, make sure you redirect the links in your .htaccess file so you don't loose those Google or SE links, and bookmarks on your visitors' computers.

Fixed, fixed and I don't see a problem w/ the /poor credit page.

REFRESH if you care to help me more.

/solutions should all be good now.

I imported a new header without thinking about the new sub-folder.

My goof which is now good I think.

Still working as fast as my two thumbs will go -

    Ladidah .......

    By the by.

I really don't have a clue what I look like on a Mac....

    e.g. - That poor_credit page.

I would hate to think that the folks ( a small % ) using a mac to view my site would see that.

Also, by bounce rate ranges from 35% on really great content pages to up to 70% or so on my home page on wierd days. ( My home page is a small % of my hits, as 82% of my visitors are new every day and come to me through the search engines.

But, it still can't be good.

WOULD LOVE SOME MORE INPUT THROUGH YOUR EYES! ( the Mac )

Willing to pay you if you want to dig deep. - Would save me a ton of time that I really don't have this Summer, as I run two bricks and mortar businesses ( irrigation and landscape ) that are kicking into high gear right now.. - and

    Let me know....

    Hey Jimmy,

I suspect that mac users are not a large part of your visitors, so I wouldn't worry but you should check the other browsers like IE7, IE6, FF3 on the pc. Just put that one page through on browsershots.org and only check off the ones you want to see otherwise it will take too long to go through all the checking of the browsers and it wouldn't do it. So only check off the impt ones.

I did check those 3 pages and the first one is fixed, the 2nd and 3rd ones still show the same after clearing cache.

    No need to pay

Jimmy ... you have a great site ... it is a great site to charge for advertising.

No payee, no tickee for all the stuff on the left and right sides. Forget the AM
stuff unless you have PROVEN payers that convert. h

However, in the middle put more ADSENSE side by side and put another
    Adsense leaderboard at the bottom.

For example: Have a remodling tip on some topic ... maybe two paragraphs
with embedded links. Underneath this tip, put two Adsense 250x250 banners
side by side ... then have another paragraph tip ... and underneath that one
put the Adsense leaderboard ... You will make money ... BUT DO NOT ask people
to do anything that might be taken by the google morons as trying to induce a click
    thru.

You have to reduce the choices people see on each individual page, it confuses them.

    Good luck.

and 1500 pages just like those?

Adsense is NOT my problem bro.

I make between $75 and $100 plus every day from GOOG.

I need an affiliate program that produces like my Contractors, Woodworking, We Buy Homes and Natural Cleaners partners and make close to that EVERY DAY!

So many people are happy with $20.00 a month with their programs.

    Makes my skin crawl!

If you are making $100 per day from Goofle ... do more Goofle.

If the choices people have are limited and Goofle seems to be the
major option, people will click there.

The days of wine and roses for AM are down to the last bottle.

For people to buy stuff, they have to want it or need it AND they
have to have the money to buy it.

Big problem is people are hoarding money ... because they are all
smarter than Bernanke and the morons at Treasury.

The collective conscious has finally gotten the idea:
CREDIT IS BAD. CASH IS GOOD. JOBS MATTER.

The Government is fighting the last war with weapons that
    are more than obsolete.

For all practical purposes, people are petrified to do anything
right now ... so sales are sporadic at best. Even FREE information
is hard to give away. Not unlike 2002, but much worse.

I wouldn't be surprised to see a huge number of online merchants
bite the dust come August ... which I think would be good since it
    would limit the competition.

However, right now everyone is getting into the internet game and
finding out it is not easy being green in AM. The FREE LUNCH traffic
everyone depended on has gone bye-bye with the job loss.

I was sending 100K per month in traffic to EBAY ... but not any more.
What was a certain $30 per day plus, dropped to less than $2. So
it was not worth the effort even if it was profitable by $30.

I actually made more money on buying one put option on EBAY, than
I made from them all month as an affiliate. If EBAY is not generating
sales ... very few are. (Note: This does not mean, NO ONE is making sales
    on Ebay.)

I would not be surprised to see Amazon stock price drop 50% in the next
    90 days.

What is selling? Volkswagen clean diesel cars. And I would expect Dan Brown's
new book "The Symbol" to be real hot come September when it is released.

Not much else, I can find on the horizon though.

I am in the process of starting a online bank ... we will see if it flies investor wise. Piece of cake to make money with a new bank these days ... $250K FDIC ... CD rates are absurd so you can make as much as 5% on the spread with 99% plus certainty and it is easy to hedge so you don't get disintermediated when interest rates explode and inflation comes back with a vengenance.

All you have to do is run it like the old Swiss banks used to do ... big time cash cow.
Buy some gold, some companies with postive cash flow and high dividends and loan
money only on for certain businesses.
