July 18th, 2009, 01:01 PM #1WP Template Question
Can someone tell me if there needs to be encrypted text in a header.php file for a WP theme? I found a nice theme and when I uploaded it I was disconnected form the server and and IP block was put on my IP Addy. When I e-mailed TS I was told my PW was compromised by the script I uploaded. I got everything squared away then took a look at the header.php file. That is when I saw two sections in the file that were encrypted. (base64 or something) Anyone have any ideas?

Do not download WordPress themes if anything is encripted within the header.php file. It's how hackers redirect SE traffic visitors to their sites.
Like Lostdeviant said, no need for encrytion in a wordpress theme .
