    Proper Etiquette
What is the proper etiquette for contacting a merchant to ask a question or make a request?

E-mail? PM if they are ABW? Either?

Thank you in advance for your response.

whatever works. here in ABW affiliate managers even show AIM and other ways.

this is where you find out how serious the merchants are; some don't answer emails at all.

Thanks. I know what you mean about AMs not answering e-mails. I started writing CBS Sports Store nearly 2 years ago. I wrote 5 e-mails in 6 months and stopped. Nearly 2 years and still no answer.

    Thanks for the info.

If they do not reply emails, and if it is critical. Try googling the AM's name or [merchant name] affiliate program for a secondary email.

    Last resort, call...

I would say if they are here on ABW, you can't go wrong on AM. Otherwise I think the default communication is email (if at all possible, a direct email address and not the program email address). The direct email address is something we see first and most likely will respond to first. If you don't get anyone at the direct email address, and you have some other direct line to the AM, I would try that next: Skype, IM, etc. and then if that doesn't work, phone call. The last resort would probably be the program email address. Others might disagree, but I do think that since those email addresses get tons of email every day, even though a good AM will respond within 24 hrs, chances are if you contact them directly you'll get an answer within 12... And you'll also build a stronger relationship by going to them directly.
