Thank you..the controversy is over up here in Minnesota. Now we can agonize the next 2 months about bringing on Vick to help us get to the Superbowl.

As I said a day or two ago in another thread, the Vikings are much better off without the King of the Interceptions.

As to vick, I won't give my opinion again here, I've done that in the past, but you can read yesterday's post on my sports blog, linked below, if you are interested. (I also recommend reading the Federal criminal indictment that is linked in the post.)

It's great news. We won't be getting a terrible QB and it makes Brad childress look terrible. This sad excuse for an NFL head coach put all his marbles in a poor QB who decided to stay retired. Now his other QB's don't know if they're Arthur or Marthur.

    Childress needs to be dumped.

Agree - Vikes can look forward to another quarterback identity crisis.

Disagree - one negative record and how many positive ones?

If he played, he would have hurt them during the Playoffs. He's pushing 40 and I saw this interesting stat on some ESPN show where they had his stats for like the last 4 or 5 games of the last 4 seasons, and they just drop out. Starts out pretty good but as the season goes on, he's just not holding up, mistakes go up.

And I've never liked Childress, so agree that he needs to go.

And glad he's retired now for the ???? time. Hopefully he stays retired this time.

i don't know... this could be a ploy to skip training camp. Rumor is that he is still throwing the ball.

Brett is done...I spoke with my friend Mary last night working out and who is Brad Childress's assistant, even if he changed his mind this week- they have moved on as an organization- the publicity here in MN has the community of fans here frustrated. She said that the Owners of the Vkies have absolutely no interest in Vick. Another sub par year at QB here again.

Only caught some Vikings games here and there but is there hope for Tavaris? He looked good at points, last few games he played good for you guys, beat Arizona, Giants, lost to the Falcons and went 7 TD - 1 INT, had that one bad game with Atlanta with 3 fumbles. Hit almost 60% of his passes. For the year -
    TD 9
    INT 2
    YDS 1,056
    RTG 95.4

or Sage? Last couple of seasons with Texans, threw a good percentage about 65% but 21 TD, 22 INT Sage looks like an interception machine. But Vikings have a great running game and defense so maybe he'll be better since he won't have to pass as much.

Tavaris is fairly athletic, but doesn't "know" the game and doesn't know how to check off the primary receiver- basically doesn't know how to see the whole field like qb's as montana, brady, warner, etc. you either have it in this area or not...don't think that is taught but more intuitive to be an elite qb. don't know much about sage in that area- i think the vikes are planning on starting sage by the way over tavaris.

That is a great pic. It doesn't matter how good a guy might be. With a name like Sage Rosenfels, you do not belong at the most respected position in football. Well, footballl for that matter.

What is THAT supposed to mean? I really hope this is not a comment relating to the the fact the he is the only active NFL quarterback who is Jewish.

Of course not. It just doesn't sound like your proto-typical QB name.

So Brett Favre does? Or Drew Brees? Or Brodie Croyle? Or Joe Flacco?

Same story on ESPN this morning: Favre WILL play for the Vikings this season.

Major mistake for Minnesota - Sage is the guy.
