OK. The month is one-third over and it official STINKS! We're coming off a record month and all of a sudden folks have stopped pulling out their credit card.

Stop around and complete the purchase!

Impressions and CTR are up, but revenue is way, way down.

    Enough already! Enough window shopping!

Open your wallet, pull out the CC and finish it.

    END:

    Phew! OK. I feel better.

I look at Feb. as the first round of impulse purchases, funded by tax refunds.

Maybe the procrastinators like myself haven't gotten their checks yet? Weisinator said Feb. was the "first round".

    Just a thought.

I hope not, or I'll have to go on my low carb diet again. Last time, it took me three days to find my office.

I'm looking at a 35% increase over February which was about another 30% increase over January. Can't wait to see what happens in April!!

Join the Dark Side Karl, add some coupons
    Also on this page:
http://mall.phillyburbs.com/ clicking Coupons under Savvy Shopper takes me to
    http://mall.phillyburbs.com/archives/cat_coupons.shtml

That whole right column is a waste of space since everything there is expired. I know its archives buy no point in having expired coupons from as way back as October 2003. Have a section with today's hottest deals/coupons and you'll get some loyal return shoppers. Might also try some bigger brand merchants especially in the electronics category, people shop with brands they trust.

Put those archive-page sidebar coupons in an SSI file and you won't have to fish through the archives (once you've installed the SSI file in the first place, anyway!) to change things. Just change the one file and you're set!

Of course, every page the SSI file is on will have the same coupons, but a live coupon is still better than a dead one!

    Expired coupons!?!? Karl? I'm shocked!

Do we need to have that little management talk about getting on board and being a team player, looking outside of the box, and all that?

    Hmmm? Do we?

I didn't think so. Shape up, Karl. No wonder things are not going as you thought they would. You need to be proactive, and keep up with this stuff...I'm sure the beating you're giving yourself over this snafu is much worse than anything anyone else could say, blah blah blah...

Excuse me, I'm going to go get sick now. This post reminds me of my nightmare days in the corporate world.

    Andy:

Maybe a three-day leadership retreat is in order. We'll find a motivational speaker to kick things off, them work through some team-buidling exercises. Then we can have a refresher on our performance management tools.

Leader & Trust - Thanks for the insight. The coupon thing was, obviously, not thought through. I took the SJO and will have to readdress it.

Philly... sorry to break the news..

2 reasons why sales suck this month..

1- there were 29 days in February.. always has people doing goofy things..

2- Christmas credit card statements were delivered, and like New Year's resolutions and diets.. by March people are swearing they aren't going to use their credit cards any more..

But just like the diets and resolutions --- they NEVER last...

It's early, the weather is getting better (in some places) and before you know it, there will be orders for golf balls and sun screen..

    Cheers and hang in there!

At CJ Had a nasty $32 reversal, made $30 back, but had some sales come through none-the-less
Would have been a good day except for the CJ reversals as some indies and other networks produced

If I can get more days like yesterday will be fine
However today is starting out like all the rest of march unfortunately

WW- Still working your quote, it's got real potential. My coin in the well seems to have done it's job, otherwise. It's raining money over here!

Huh? Sorry, this makes no sense to me. Go to Google News and search for 'february sales leap year' and you'll get a few hundred results like this:

quote:
Total sales of merchandise and gasoline for February 2004 benefited from
one extra day due to leap year.

    Karl,

I've been working on my presentation for Affiliate Summit and I would be happy to be the motivational speaker for your leadership conference - I won't even charge you my usual 2 cent appearance fee. The presentation goes something like this:

    Hi
You don't need parasites in your program to be successful.
    Any questions?

For your leadership retreat we could follow up with a round of campfire songs and a group hug. Where are we going to have this event?

    Bryan
