Google only scores a few percentage points with Chrome and all the resources they have to push it.. another browser probably won't make much of an impact. When IE displaced Netscape it took years, and it's taken years for Firefox to take a bite out of IE.

    Built in search..

If you download the standard Firefox, when you first load it, the default search engine is powered by google. Google paid Firefox/mozilla $75 million in 2007 for that partnership.

Well, with Internet Explorer, Microsoft were interested in pushing the server-side technologies behind it. So basically they sold the stuff to make things like ActiveX components, .NET and all that Microsoft-only jazz.

Firefox does make money from the Google deal, but in part the motivation is to p*ss Microsoft off.

Chrome is all about signing your soul to the great Google god.

Safari is for those who have decided to worship at the altar of Steve Jobs.

And Opera is designed for people who still think that paying for a web browser is a good idea.
