Does anyone know of where you can get a listing on soon to expire domain names?

Do any of you have good luck registering and using deleted domains? Seems to me like the sharks get the good ones first, but I could just be slow?

Not much luck since Google picked up on that trick a year ago and penalises expired domains.

I use exody.com for expired domain lists. For me it's worth the $50 a month. Of course the sharks always get the good domains first, although sometimes people are lucky.

I don't really care about what Google does with penalizing expired domains ("clear" old pagerank/ don't count old links). If I see a good name, I'll register it. I get most of my traffic from Yahoo and MSN anyway

DirectNIC.com is a registrar that lists expired domains, but I think you have to have an account with them to view them. They also have a service where they'll email you a weekly list of expired domains matching (albeit limited) specifications.

I gave up because there were too many crappy ones, lots with dashes or numbers, that kind of thing.

If you had an automated tool to take a list of domains and check link popularity, might gets some nuggets out of it.
