    Donuts
I wonder where Donuts has gone.

I used to really look forward to his posts. His were the most informative in my opinion.

Lots of chatting in here but not near the substance since he went AWOL.

Hey, yeah. Been wondering about Donuts, too. Haven't seen or heard anything of him around here for months.

Donuts, you out there? Everything going well? We miss your words of cheer and wisdom!

I'm not sure we're completely without substance now. In fact, I think there are some VERY important discussions going on even as we speak.

That said, I'd like to see his input as well.

Quite a few members have "moved on" for whatever reason, but stating that the remaining and new members don't add "substance" is unfair and sounds like the rest of us are chopped meat.

I'm sure you didn't mean it that way, but that's how it sounds.

Was saying how substantive Donuts' posts were and without those there is now less substance.

Don't see how that would be taken as a personal attack on anyone currently posting here. Simply an observation. Wasn't meant as an indictment on anyone remaining : )

I agree with Howard. Donuts posts contained some above average useful information. I credit a lot of my success in this game to his nuggets of wisdom. Where ever he is - I hope that he is okay.

He was at Affiliate Summit, he's fine. He's just not "in the loop" to quote him.

I bumped into him at the Summit and we said hello, wasn't able to catch up with him later though. I agree that he is one that I miss. With the competitive forum that seems to have died off and the alternative association I think his interests turned elsewhere. Rumor has it that there is some super secret forum out there somewhere that requires a secret handshake and to memorize a fraternity song.

We have had a lot of high quality and volume posters go silent here. They all have different reasons for sure. They may be having personal issues or just plain ticked off at something or someone at ABW.

Some go away for a good while and then return like Trust. Hopefully more will soon return as they are all for sure missed.

He still posts once in a while in the Adwords forum on Webmasterworld. Maybe he's focusing more on PPC consulting these days.

I miss Donut's posts too, along with Uncle Scooter (was he having some health issues?) and a whole lot of other users that haven't been active in a while. I guess that's just the nature of forums, the turn over helps keep them fresh. There are plenty of other users that I enjoy reading and learn from everyday and some of the newer users have certainly been surprising in their contributions.

I ran into him a couple times at ASE09, but didn't get much time to visit with him. He's one of my favorite people in the industry.

PPC consulting? I bet he's doing more fishing than PPC consulting.

Anytime we have a member leave or become less active, it's a loss to the community, but we also have many new members and tons of activity. I'm always dumbfounded when we do the annual "Best Of" voting and Haiko posts the list of new members with 100+ posts who are eligible for "Best New Member", and so many of them have become such regular posters that it seems like they've been here forever.

I miss Donuts, too. He knows how to play with words. He'll be back.
And I agree with Chuck. That's how he lost his interest for ABW. And the people stirring him away are not even affiliate anymore.

Donuts continues to recommend ABW to people; I think he's just interested in other pursuits.

This is a direct quote from Donuts:
I do wish Haiko and every single person at ABW a bright, healthy, prosperous future - it's a wonderful place that every affiliate should dive into and experience. I'm grateful for the years I spent there, I learned a great deal there, it certainly was a very critical contributor to my personal and professional affiliate growth! Tell them I said so if you'd like. And wish them all well for me!
That is all I know and the direct quote is quoted with permission. I don't know anything other than what I just quoted nor do I have the ability to delve and find more info.
