    Sen. Kennedy Has Died
One of the great men of our time, Sen. Edward M. Kennedy, has died.

    (CBS News report)

(Many years ago, I was privileged to hear him speak at a Los Angeles Town Hall event.)

I was really saddened to hear the news. Sad for the family since this follows so closely to his sister Eunice Kennedy Schriver earlier this month.

Yes, I agree this really did come close to her passing so makes it even a sadder time for the family.

AffiliateHound - you were really fortunate to have been part of that event since it was in Los Angeles. Probably not many from out of state did hear him.

I agree. He will be very much missed. Kinda stupid of me to have thought that way, but I had hoped since he had gotten that treatment a while back, it may have helped him to live a bit longer at least. I hadn't been really following the news that closely recently so I don't know what his last days were like but I hope at least he didn't suffer much and his family was able to have some time with him.

Very heartbreaking. Ted Kennedy was a great American Statesman and Patriot. A Champion for those that are often ignored, oppressed and forgotten. A voice for all people. A man of peace and guardian of justice. He will be missed and can never be replaced. America is a better place having had Ted Kennedy as one of its representatives.
