For Those Using The All in One SEO Plugin
Just curious as to what your settings are. The default is:

    Canonical URLs: check
    Rewrite Titles: check
Use Categories for META keywords: not checked off
Dynamically Generate Keywords for Posts Page: check
    Use noindex for Categories: check
    Use noindex for Archives: check
Use noindex for Tag Archives: not checked off
    Autogenerate Descriptions: check
    Capitalize Category Titles: check

Bolded the two not checked off.

Do you guys leave it like that or did you change anything? If you changed something, why?

Thanks. Looks like she checked off the two in bold if I'm reading that right.

Categories for keywords, I'm still trying to figure out. Why would I want that? I know that SE's really don't use it that much if it all and I usually just put in some words. I only have 6 categories so there would be a lot of repeating.

As far as tags, I did notice my tag pages getting indexed and wasn't sure if I wanted that or not. Even tho the author of that plugin has it unchecked by default, they do say later on:

    "Duplicate Content
You can have “noindex” and the like generated for archive-, category- and tag pages if you seem to have trouble with duplicate content."

    Then I read this earlier:

    Why tags are so good?

    http://www.prelovac.com/vladimir/imp...ment-with-tags

So not sure if I should go against the default setting and check the -
Use noindex for Tag Archives: so my tag pages don't get indexed.

Tags are good since this how your site can be searched via SE, technorati, other social sites, etc. The no index of the tags however pertains to avoiding duplicate content if your blogpost is already being indexed. Sorry for short post. I am on low battery and camping right now

Ah, I think I was getting the noindex and nofollow mixed up. They'll still follow the tags and links but just won't index them, if I got that right.

Just out of curiosity, if you've had a blog up for a while and installed the All-In-One SEO plugin, will it break your previous permalinks or just redirect to your new SEO'd links?
-Don't criticize anyone til you've walked a mile in their shoes. Then when you do criticize them, you'll be a mile away and have their shoes.

Not sure what you are asking but the All-in-one SEO plugin has no effect on permalinks, more with meta tags, noindex, nofollow tags, and avoiding dupe content. So if you had permalinks up there, the SE will just not index certain pages or queries e.g. http://forum.abestweb.com/showpost.p...6&postcount=13

So, no, the permalinks will not break and there is also no redirection going on. Perhaps your question was more related to this post? http://forum.abestweb.com/showthread.php?t=123449

Nevermind. I think I misunderstood what the plugin did. I assumed one of the things it did was create SEO'd permalinks and from your post, I gather that isn't the case.
