Gary, glad to hear they are moving forward on this, even if it is at a lame tortoise pace. I look forward to hearing from you that you have been reinstated.

What are "non-referring URLs"? Those that send visitors directly from a PPC ad to ebay without a site?

With regard to more important things, KC is my adopted favorite NFL team, after my beloved Packers of course. IMHO KC and Green Bay have the best fans in the NFL.

With respect to referring URLs, I just looked up the blog piece on this, available at http://www.ebaypartnernetworkblog.co...l-tips-tricks/

Sounds like this is addressing link cloaking and possibly google analytics users.

I also heard from a buddy who's doing EPN that they sent out thousands of letters a day or two ago warning people they were using "non-referring URLs" and giving them a deadline to resolve that problem or face termination. No telling how flooded they are handling the responses to THAT email, in addition to handling my problem.
Sighhh... I was one of the EPN affiliates that received this e-mail. I had to spend almost a full day researching javascript to fix the problem.

In my case, I was using a "window.open" call when someone clicked in a price row on my price comparison website. window.open loses the referrer on Internet Explorer.

I didn't want to lose my "click in the cell, get an eBay window" functionality, so I had to figure out a javascript way to do the same thing without "window.open" on IE. Major pain.
Merchants, any data you provide to Google Shopping should also be in your affiliate network datafeed. More data means more sales!

Thanks Michael - this really does deserve a whole thread of its own.

It is almost as if ebay is punishing those that work their butt off to convert more visitors.

I can certainly understand the non-referring URL issue, though. The referring URLs tell merchants a LOT about affiliates, and can really help distinguish between legitimate affiliates and fraudulent ones. As they transition from CPA to CPC, fraud detection will become even more of an issue.
