Talking Chose Your Permanent Avatar ---> Wisely! :-)
To all the current, and future members of ABW!

Unless you're using a real mugshot of yourself, just make sure that any other stable avatar you use here (or on any other forum), is somehow representative of the way you are, or the way you may feel at the moment...

Because any single or innocent wrong cartoon (or other real people avatar) you use on a permanent basics, can damage your credibility, at any given post...

Just take these three (Walt Disney cartoon characters) avatars, as an example:

    Mickey Mouse

    Pinocchio

    Roger Rabbit (Bugs Bunny)

I think I would trust the post from the "What's up, Doc?" by the Bugs Bunny (wabbit) more, than the post from the other two cartoon characters...

    ---------------------
Btw, I have no problem with anyone avatar, I like all avatars... (Just look at my title! )

But it's true, sometimes just a sigle wrong avatar can make you, or brake you! (At least for awhile!)

Not because the avatar is good or bad, but because that same avatar may take away some of your credibility, if it's not too appropriate for a serious post you make...

    On another note...

You know what they say about: "I don't remember the name, but I do remember that face"

Well, after six years on ABW, and after reading posts from over 50k members here, I usually associate members posts by their regular permanent avatar automatically, and then by their old or current nicknames, but when a newbie make a post with an old familiar avatar (I sometimes get confused), I remember what one member ask me once (A long time ago) here: "Are you sure you want to use that Avatar?"

If anyone need to ask the reason of this thread, or why now... That's your problem, but here is a related tip: "Read more posts on ABW", at least in the last few weeks.

I was always wondering what that is. I thought it was a picture from outer space or something...

Rat hole, eh. You know, I've always wondered what that was. Reminds me of an expression my dad used to use: "That guy doesn't have enough sense to pound sand down a rat hole." Obviously some obscure Depression Era, Great Plains reference.

Mr. Sal makes a good point I changed my avatar from my cool kitty sketch to my real me when I began affiliate managing. Haiko made a point about affiliates needing to know who they are working with and hiding behind an avatar isn't a great way to build a following. So there I am....

Jerry was a mouse. A Chicago rat was the first to use the phrase; "here Kitty, Kitty".
