Google Uses Search History in Future Searches
I just noticed something that has perhaps been going on for a while. It happened while searching for a Kia door handle. First I searched for "Kia Door Handle". I then searched for "Kia Auto Parts". In the latter search, ads for "Kia Door Handles" were showing in the paid ads. So Google is storing my history to invoke ads with keywords based on previous searches.

My question would be: What is the mechanism, how long, and where are they storing the info? Cookies would be my first guess. Then my second guess would be some supercomputer deep beneath the surface of the earth manned by bald hunchbacked men.

I believe the world calls this behavioral marketing, vs contextual marketing that Google mastered early on.

The theory is that if one can really figure out what gets your attention ads can be targeted accordingly, with better sales.

It's my understanding that Google collects your browsing history in an attempt to determine what is likely get your attention. You probably get fed a lot of fat cookies in the process.

Should work but the jury may still be out.
