    Just had to post this.

I just did my Federal and should be getting $700 back sweet, I can use that to buy a new domain and webhosting! Are you getting a tax refund back?

    WW,

We have no children but an excellent accountant. Its not being single that is the issue its how well your accountant can show you the correct CD's - Investments , etc....

The no deductibles (family) has gone out of date years ago!

I never get a refund anymore. I am self-employed, so I pay estimated taxes quarterly. If I pay a little extra, I just leave it there to go towards next years taxes.

You almost lost me on your post Sandra
My accountant has also been pretty good finding legit expenses I can use.
Was basically saying since no tax is taken off Jasons cheques anymore, there is no money to get back at the end of the year.

I even got to put some money into a retirement plan his year. With circumstances here travel expenses down, so had to find new ways to bring net income down and hopefully pay less. New computer, new printer, etc etc

For all those self-employed you might want to pay yourself, I pay myself always have and always will. I was fortunate enough to get a good accountant, the very first thing she said was to add myself to the payroll.

I never get a refund. Why give the IRS an interest-free loan?

Being self-employed, I am only required to pay estimated payments equal to the lesser of 100% of last year's tax liability or 90% of this year's tax liability. And that's what I pay. For the rest of my tax liability, it sits in the bank earning interest until I pay it on 4/15.

Make sure to maximize your IRA contributions. You can contribute up to $40,000 (up to 20% of the first $200,000 of earnings) to an SEP IRA now.
