I don't know if this should go here or in a different forum, moderators feel free to move it if it's in the wrong place.

In the meantime, I have a person with an html webstore created using Quikstore that is interested in switching to a database driven store. But there are several hundred products in the html store, no spreadsheet, no flatfile, no mysql, no nothing.

Is there a script (existing or can be created) that can pull the data from the pages to create a database without typing in the whole thing? Product information is all in consistent format.

I can pm a url for anyone that wants to take a look...

Again, this isn't for me, it is for someone looking at a better way to manage her products

Is the data in the html file in a uniform format throughout? If it is, I would use 'search & replace' to create a pipe-delimited text file which could then be imported into Access, Excel, etc.

You would have to do a number of replaces to get the file into usable state to import.

If there are a number of files, you can cut and paste the HTML into a single text file so you just have to do it once.
