    Smile Datafeeds
    Hi:

I'm Shay, and I would like information about how to use datafeeds. I have a couple of sites that I feel would benefit from them, however I'm not sure how to implement them. Help would be greatly appreciated.

I have a couple of sites where I struggled with PHP/MySQL and do just fine with them. However they take a lot of my time to build and maintain, so lately I have learned to be more productive (for me anyway) by using these two scripting services:

    GoldenCan - http://www.goldencan.com
    and
    PopShops - http://www.popshops.com

    Popshops
    Hi Bill:

I just invested in the Popshops, and am still navigating my way through it. Still trying to learn how to set the feeds up though. I love the way you can pick the products you like and pop them in. It's really simple and fun! It's amazing how you can get so into your site building, the day just flies by!

Shay - What web design plans did you have? Wordpress Drupal, Joomla? There are WP plugins to do these types of things.

    Thanks!
Thanks everyone for all the help. I am investigating everything that you've suggested. I'm really new when it comes to blogging and all, so I am not sure even where to begin with it. Right now I am trying to figure out how to get content on a mostly shopping site. It's difficult cause I'm thinking a lot of people want to shop, but I will have to incorporate some good information or comparisons so they will have something to go on...

Working with data feeds can be EXTREMELY time consuming, I'd focus on getting people to your site first, so that means work on the "good information" side.

Having a lot of products from a datafeed will not drive a lot of traffic (you are competing with the exact same content as the rest of us), but "good information" (unique information added by you, that we don't have) could drive traffic.

    I agree totally!
Datafeeds are so fun, and I think its because I am new to them. I really enjoy setting them up. But I totally agree, content is king, period. I am really used to writing like I did in school and have to practice writing for people, not sounding like a dictionary. Thanks for your insight, it is greatly appreciated!
