    links to external websites
    Hi,
I have website that sells electrical products. Rather than review all the products myself, I wondered if it is ethical or bad practice to have links to other websites such as amazon that have reviews of these products?

From a latest experience: Too many external links can hurt your standings with the search engines. I had to delete many of my external links because of that.

How did you link your reviews externally? Can you send me a PM with your website so that I see an example.

If u want to link, checkout link cloacking.

On the flip side, why send traffic to amazon as they might conver there. or unless you are an affiliate of Amazon

Are you a merchant or an affiliate? If you are the merchant you don't want to send people to the reviews at Amazon or anywhere else. You want to keep them on your website.

From what I understand it's a bad idea to have too many external links from your site.

Also, it's a good idea to have a lot of internal links WITHIN your site.
(Note to self: must do more work on my internal links!)

I recommend security software on a site of mine.
I sell it via affiliate links BUT also I have an "Amazon Shop" on the site.

I reason that some people might want to see more user reviews and buy software in the boxed version - with CDs and printed manuals. And they can do that at Amazon.

As far as I know nobody actually buys from my Amazon shop. I'm just trying make sure that visitors can find what they want.

It seems to me that a link on my site to my Amazon shop, since the shop is embedded html, only counts as one single external link, if that - although it connects to many pages and products at Amazon.
