Anyone notice a jump in Page rank today?
Hmmmmm, the Google data center right down the road form us must be working hard. Just noticed three sites I work with all got page rank bumps. One by three. Just curious if anyone else saw that type of movement? That's all...go back to your long weekends. LOL

Yep. A site I've worked with for a few months just went from PR 2 (which it was in late August's site launch) to PR 3. Nothing big, but an update nonetheless.

Maybe they want webmasters to think PR is not a big deal and everything that goes along with that, when it's still part of the pie. I've never seen a bad PR 8, 9, 10 site, can even throw some 7's and 6's in there. If it's not a big deal, why is it even still around? Why don't they just kill it off completely. They're keeping it around for something, still updating it. So I have to think there is still a lil something to it.

And links in always being the foundation of their algo.

Who knows. I don't pay attention to it like I did when I first started.

Also, you know when Google started, I'm sure they didn't want people to know the algo because then people can go to work on it but it's very easy when you can just read the patents. And when people figured it out at the beginning, you could just link exchange a site to page 1 back in the day, was pretty easy.

My opinion is they still want people checking PR via the Google Toolbar or in my case the SearchStatus Add-on for Firefox. Those send information back to Google from every page we visit, and they must like the data. They have abandoned PR in Webmaster Tools, and they tell everybody not to pay much attention to it so it must be the data.
