    Affiliate Management Programs
What is everyone using for affiliate management programs?

I have been recommended the one offered by 1ShoppingCart, does anyone have experience with this particular option? Pros and cons?

Are you a merchant looking for a platform to manage your program - or an affiliate looking to manage your promotions?

Most merchants sign up with a network to let them manage tracking and payments. Some merchants do use an in-house platform, it's just a lot more work for the merchant. Use the search here and you will find many discussions about affiliate platforms or software for affiliate management.

Look into some of the in house programs such as:

    idevaffiliate
    groundbreak.com

1shoppingcart has an affiliate module but it's pretty useless in the fact that it doesn't support subid tracking. So there's no way for an affiliate to compare the ROI of their campaigns e.g. their banners vs ppc ads vs a review on their blog etc.

No matter what you do - network or inhouse solution - don't get something that ignores this basic feature which many affiliates appreciate.

Spend some time in the "Becoming a Merchant" and "Merchant Best Practices" forums here on ABW. There's a lot of very useful feedback. You should never start an affiliate program "from the solution" (e.g. a specific piece of software), but instead start from the other end (who are your prospective affiliates, and what might attract or deter them). See also the free advice linked from my signature (below).
