Just got a new domain for a site and was checking to see if it worked yet.

    typing
http://wwww.newdomain.com get a The page cannot be displayed

typing www.newdomain.com it goes to Yahoo search and then Did you mean: with alternate suggestions.

I remember it going somewhere else. Why and when does it go to Yahoo?

The darned Yahoo toolbar automatically makes Yahoo the default search. We probably all got Yahooed checking out that bar...

It's possible to change the default search back, though--I changed mine back to Google ASAP when I saw it had done that. I don't remember just how I made it go back, though.

There are 4 W's in the first one.
In my browser all variations go to the same page.

That was just an example, i accidently added the extra w. I see this if you type in a new domain that's not up yet or a non-existant domain. Not a big deal, just seeing Yahoo was new.

In Internet Explorer, click your Search Button, Click the Change Preferences Item, Click Change Internet Search Behavior, and there you'll find the list of search engines to set as default.
