    What's your favorite SAS tool?
I'm just bouncing around on the SAS site looking at the tools - make a page, datafeeds, widgets, .csv downloads, custom links, etc. - wondering what would be cool to use, how some of these can help.

How do you use SAS "tools" (I don't know if "tools" is the right term...basically if you use something to help you with something it can be considered a tool...right?...)?

What are your favorite SAS "helpers" or "info tools?" Any you "just can't live without?" (For me it would be custom links!)

A lot of people use the make-a-page tool and datafeed downloads.

While I have never been an affiliate, I like the custom link builder. You can create a deep link directly to a merchants category page. It was easy and effective. I use to create links for affiliate with it all the time when I was AMing.

On the merchant side of things, my fave was the trademark violation section. Not really a tool, but a great way to keep a merchants trademark protected.

Definitely Make A Page and Custom Link generator. Great tools that give affiliates the ability to make more sales for merchants and that all networks should have.

That isn't a Shareasale network problem, that is a merchant problem. Shareasale doesn't host the images for datafeeds.

Just clarifying for those that might think that is a problem with the "tool" when it is a problem with the data.

I was waiting for someone to bring up Carolyn She gets nominated for best affiliate "tool" whenever that subject comes up.

I agree that Make a Page and Custom Links top the list, and I think that once affiliates find a way to make using the data available in the Deals Database easier, that will top the list. The deals links convert WAY better than most of the other links.

From a merchant side, I like the Create a Widget tool. Do affiliates like the Widgets?

Now that I'm on the merchant side, I'll back up that observation. I never really used widgets as an affiliate because the ones offered never seemed to "fit" my sites. I did make a couple for Girly Checks - made then in neutral gray and and sized them to fit either a sidebar (1) and most basic WordPress column widths (2). Surprisingly, according to the stats, they are being used a lot more than I imagined they would. Guess I'll be making more.

As and affiliate and now as a merchant I have always like the Make A Page tool. Products coupled with narrative description seem to be good converters.

The only thing I found better (as an aff) is a search box (so I made one of them, too, for our affs ). That is done with a tool for merchants - Adding Dynamic/HTML Creative.

    ok if Carolyn's considered a tool she'd be #1

but as to the other tools, love Make a page and use it, use it, use it all the time.

As to widgets. Love them and use em quite a bit, too. Specially purple ones.
A reaaaallly big BUT tho with the widgets
    widgets post

Umm I do really love em but won't name any names (umm you know who you are ) They need to be updated by the affiliate managers when there are coupons, sales, etc. When umm they get emailed about em they probably feel like doin this to me.

The best affiliate tool is a person with a credit card with a plus balance hitting submit order.

Merchants should really look into making widgets ... they get lots of clicks.
The best ones are like the ones you can custom make at EBAY ... search box on top or bottom of the widget plus 4,5 or 6 of you best deals with thumbnail pics

    I'm a TOOL!!!!!

(but not the sharpest one in the shed...I'd vote for the video tracking tool. The ability to upload your own video and embed multiple tracking links? C'mon, that's a cool tool.)

(you guys crack me the heck up)
